If you're looking for a game that scratches the Obra Dinn-itch, you'll enjoy the Roottrees.

Excellent point-and-click puzzle game based around the concept of linguistics and translating unknown languages, with just the right amount of guessing. Reminds me a lot of Another World, style-wise, along with the concept of the unknown.

It's not often that I'd label a game as being an artistic masterpiece, but this one deserves all the praise that it gets. I bought it after playing a cracked version until the ~50% mark; these devs should get every cent of their €20 asking price.

Even if you're not a regular survival horror player (I myself dislike most of them), give this one a shot. The artstyle, soundwork and general vibe are *chef's kiss*.

Worth buying for the soundtrack alone. All other shizz aside, this is one amazing fast-paced party game, preferably played with 4 players or more. Also, use the left trigger to change quack and instrument pitch. You're welcome.

Revolution managed to make a sequel that stayed true to their original Sky game from 1994, whilst bringing it up to date with the modern times. No more pseudo-3D point-and-clicking, but a full 3D world. Plus, no 12-disc swapping like on the old Amiga 1200.. 😉

I wasn't that fond of the multiplayer beta, but holy hell the singleplayer kicks total ass. I was worried Nightmare difficulty would be too easy; no worries there, as you will die a lot. A LOT.
Gameplay is fluid, the guns are awesome, but the soundtrack is the best part of the game. It's not exactly classic Doom, but it's one hell of a modern alternative.

It's almost strange that it took a developer of real-time strategy games to create the first good Alien game.
Alien: Isolation feels like a playable version of the first Alien movie, with amazingly designed environments true to Scott and Giger's original designs and visions.

The only real problem I have with the game, is the lack of proper anti-aliasing; the built in SMAA is terribly insufficient, and no driver forced AA solution seems to work. Even hardware downsampling doesn't eliminate the jaggies.

Still, this game more than deserves a solid 9/10; if you're as big a fan of the original movie as I am, buy this game. You won't regret it.

The Wolf Among Us has some of the best storytelling and art styles you've seen, compared to its cell-shaded counterparts. Combined with an amazing soundtrack and memorable characters, this game gets a solid 9 out of 10 from me.
