I downloaded 5 mods to try and get this to launch past the main menu.
Did not work.
Bethesda, Bethesda never changes.

-Spent 3 hours installing TTW and finally playing with occasional crashes.

Just like playing a Mil-Sim, but way more fast-paced and no-one has to fly the extraction vehicle.

This is one of those games you go back to again and again, thinking 'it can't have been that bad! Why did I stop playing last time!'

Basically an Arkham game if you stripped out all the main missions, combat mechanics and made the player character control like a fart in a windtunnel.

The traversal mechanics were ruined, no cool gliding and grapnel combo, just random zippy floaty garbage. The terrible movement makes stealth sections unplayable, constantly flying around in front of enemies and unable to make small adjustments to your position. Exploring the map is fun, but you get a very generic city vibe from most of it, except a few buildings.

Unlockable combat moves are okay, but why is the new 'counter' icon white? You can barely see the thing. The special moves you unlock seem to not fit into the combat very well too, it doesn't flow like Batman Arkham games and so far just seems like a set of finishers to cap off a basic strike/dodge battle, rather than tools that allow you to do fun things (e.g. stun, freeze, explode, aerial attack, batclaw, etc.)

The music at one point made me want to vomit, and the characters are a bunch of twits. Also batman is dead, worst trend in modern batman games, batman is kind of cool lul. RIP Kevin.

Early Access Review
Very ambitious game with huge potential, the world is simulated in great detail and will give you many options on how to approach gathering information.

Main criticism is that pretty much every murder case can be solved by getting a fingerprint (its the easiest method). If some criminals wore gloves, or there were limitations of the gov database it would force players to make better use of the rest of the game, such as cameras and witnesses. I wouldn't mind if some murders were near impossible to solve, and perhaps there were a few cases you could take at once so you can ditch any that are too tough.

The tutorial is also quite misleading as none of the procedural cases have any interesting stories or twists to them. It is just X killed Y because Z, and you normally don't find any narrative in notes/emails. e.g. blackmail photos, threatening letters. The murders seemingly just grab a random person and make them kill another random person, when it really should be motivated by things you could find out. You can find out the motive by asking the killer after arresting, but you won't find emails, notes or witnessed arguments except in a few specific cases.

I would love the ability to interrogate a bit more - e.g. ask where someone was at a specific time, and use pinned evidence to catch them in a lie and potentially force a confession. Instead, the dialogue is a bit clunky and is just a way of asking for information.

Favourite feature is the ability to hide behind a newspaper. Favourite activity: breaking into offices and stealing everything for no reason.

Exactly the kind of mix between sim and fun I was looking for. Unfortunately, the mod has no players so all servers are empty. There used to be unskippable intro and outro cutscenes, which the patched out, but the damage was done and everyone left.

This game is not as realistic and immersive as people said, especially not after recent updates. Some people like the focus on placing and attacking spawn points, but it just takes me out of any kind of realistic feeling to see people spawn, or be attacked immediately after spawning. The strategy of sneaking behind a barn to place a spawnpoint, it is just comical. Just let me approach the frontline from a distance without enemies spawning all over the place.

Refund request rejected. Too bad you will go over the 2 hour refund mark if you read the essay of a tutorial, queue for a game for ages and then play one match.

The presentation of this game is plain and flat, but the mechanics are deep and engaging.

So many ideas went into it and there are a lot of challenges to complete. I agree with one review which stated the 'streak' concept is pretty bad, as I don't think you should ever choose between rewards and scoring points, and instead should only be evaluated on turns taken, health, gold, etc. I just accepted that part of the game though, and just click on the streak bonus each time.

Combining a large number of classes, unlocks and upgrades result in each run feeling very different and brings out new strategies. For example, I found that if you capture and pet the beast rider twice, you will get 100 points each time you pet him. Yes.

Early Access Review
I love Arma games and own all of them back to Operation Flashpoint, but this one sucks. Updates were slow and miniscule, and I originally posted this review 1.5 years into development. I projected it would take about 3 more years for them to complete the game's promised features. A few months later, they just announced the game was done - verison 1.0. Features undelivered, bugs unfixed. Basically, the devs had no idea what they were doing and just drowned in bugs for 2 years - we ended up with a fake game tech demo.

There is nothing to play here. A bunch of empty servers, broken mods, bad AI and a lacklustre roadmap which the devs just gave up on. You can find a PVP server if you're into that, there is cross-play. The graphics are nice, but I can't shake the feeling this is purely a tech demo for their new engine, just not enough content to convince me otherwise. My play time in this game is so low just because I can't find a working server, and the only game mode in the game isn't very interesting.

Trying to play singleplayer is a joke - there are no singleplayer scenarios and there is no story. You can spawn AI and try to make the game yourself, but it crashes frequently and the brain-dead zombie behaviour of AI is worse than Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Spawned AI can aim and walk forwards, that's it. AI has remained unchanged since early access began, they clearly do not have anyone working on it and no plans to improve it. AI cannot drive vehicles - they decided that this wasn't important for V1.0, and has remained unfinished despite being on the roadmap.

The scope of the game was always a shame - no tanks or attack helicopters, making this game much less ambitious than Operation Flashpoint released back in 2001. Here I was hoping the quality of what was delivered would shine considering how basic the features are, but they somehow under-delivered on a very small quantity of content.

No Steam Workshop support, so modders are not going to get their stuff seen by many people. They promised Steam Workshop support early into development but we hit release and it ain't here. I released some modded content on their janky internal system, but the following update corrupted it completely and there was no communication as to how to fix. Why should I fix my work if you can't be bothered to make your game?

Finally, I don't like the way they run the discussions area. They are very strict on people posting in the correct 'subforum', which I see as just an excuse to hide and ban people criticising the game. If you want to quickly gauge the community's feel for the game right now, you can't easily do this. I was looking forward to Arma 4, now I'm dreading it.

"How bad can it be?" I thought, as i read the reviews. Let's just say I hope this game doesn't kill the series - Subnautica 1 was brilliant but just about every change made in this game is a downgrade. They are building on their past success but the design decisions were bad. I have replayed the first game a few times, want a third game to be made, but I will never replay this one. Issues:

-The zippy transport and strong sub you had before is replaced with a slow, clunky long vehicle which is basically a moving base instead of an exploration vehicle. Takes too long to move around, can't evade anything, gets stuck. Jack of all trades, master of nothing. I swear, I might even have liked this game if I had a seaglide, but they just deleted the damn thing.

-Huge portions of the map are on land, and there is less underwater area to explore than before. The land section is a big gimmick and has nothing to do with the rest of the game. Hey devs: this is a game about being in the ocean.

-Scary biomes are replaced with bright and colourful biomes. They look nice, but I no longer get the same feeling of dread/terror from the first game. There are also too many parts where you enter a linear cave system with a completely different look to everything else and it feels way too 'designed'. Like I just swam into a piece of concept art instead of a natural cave system.

-Characters and voice logs are dull. No one is stranded and so everyone is just talking about penguins and ♥♥♥♥. I hate everyone in this game, and I don't care about anything they are talking about, even if the penguins are cute.

-The story is a patchwork mess, no longer a fight for survival it is a quest to find your sister and then talk to an alien or something. The simple and primal motivation of survival works so much better in a survival game.

I enjoy the base building, which is mostly the same as before, and it is still fun to explore new places. Only worth it if you replayed the first game and just want a bit more to explore.
