Buyer BEWARE. I'm sorry but I mean it.

If you are ok with paying for an early beta of a promising game and dealing with all the associated extravaganza, by all means - there is a fun game in there. Graphics are good, animations as well, combat is meaty and flashy and fast, but it remains strategic all the while. It does look and feel good.

So what exactly I do not recommend?

Bugs. Small bugs, big bugs, sprinkled with balance issues, broken mechanics mixed with game breaking bugs, with tiny bugs on top. I mean, there was a bug which caused magic gain % buffs to stack, so chests vomited rare loot at players for minutes. To the point where people didn't pick up Legendary items because they were buried under a mountain of rares, barely visible. Gold is easily duped via an exploit on the live server. People kept losing items from their stash and characters had their story progress wiped, so enjoy this tutorial with your LVL 90, 500k crit, now poor godling. There was a hotfix for that which caused a 36 HOURS OF DOWNTIME right after launch. It doesn't look like it did fix the issue entirely though. But! You do not care about economy? Or playing online at all, which is a good thing because servers seem to be down again? Ok then.

How about a corpse in the very first minute of you playing a tutorial, which - i guess - is supposed to teach you how to pick up items (there's even a pop-up text about it). It never does drop anything for me, ever. Or, if you are into this sort of thing, you might fancy having to replay an area because this npc, which is supposed to open a door, is feeling a bit BROKEN and doesn't want to talk to you? 3 times in a row? Oh hey, look, a cool boss fight! Enjoy it from UNDER THE MAP.

Interestingly, all of that and much more I've managed to accept. An indy dev, after all. A kickstarter project. First game. First few days of launch, totally unexpected server loads with 100+ k people attempting to play at once, database problems? Fine. Even if it lasts a week or two, it will stabilise and go away at some point. What really broke my will to play this game in it current state though is how utterly BROKEN the character progression and skill tree is. There is a skill that - because of a typo - grants +50% of damage, instead of 0.5% per block chance. That's fine though, plenty of skills and modifiers seem to not work at ALL, which becomes apparent after few hours of playing because you simply DO NOT EXPECT IT. It gets you by surprise, like winter does with Polish drivers. You do not expect most magic passives simply NOT BLOODY WORKING in a released ARPG. People report items providing +96% of spell damage doing NOTHING to the actual damage dealt by the character. Summons won't attack bosses, and they have collision for each other, enemies and YOU. Constantly blocking each other, you and any hope of enjoyment. Or doing NOTHING being stuck on a rock half a screen away. And avoid the Dark Market, by the way. Apparently there's an error causing the game to crash when using it, and its going to FREEZE UP AND CRASH every time you attempt playing online. Also don't join your friends games if they are further in the story than you, it will make your character to jump to that point in the story. You can't go back. And now, when you host your own game with your lvl 21 character all of the enemies are on lvl 36+ and EATING YOU ALIVE. Good times.

And there is more. It is endless, and it eroded my will to play this game bit by bit, up to the point of having me write all of this.

It has to be said that at the same time I am looking forward to editing my review some time down the line, hopefully changing it to "Recommended" after A LOT of work is done by the Dev, I truly am. But right now? Just bloody no.

Early Access Review
Let me put it this way;
- Updates over the course of the EA program have been regular, usually quite robust.
- Bugfixes post-patch consistently rapid.
- Graphics are a matter of taste, but the lighting system combined with the current cave generator and music? Oh, man.. It's like Stranger Things with DWARFS.
- Each class has a role and excels at different tasks/times.
- Controls are sharp (mostly, reloading and weapon switching is clumsy, but if it was by design I wouldn't be surprised)
- Gunplay feels good, VO work is spot on, performance took a hit somewhere along the line but is manageable.
- Difficulty, mission lenght and cave complexity scaling combined accommodates all kinds of players (it starts at Hazard 4, and 5 is the real ride kids).
- Community is great 95% of the time.
- You can get lost 2900m underground with 10 bullets, 1 granade, couple of flares and still yell "ROCK AND STONE! TO THE BONE!" with 3 other DWARFS.
- I really believe that If you are not playing this, you are missing out on the best coop fps available right now.

Also, I very rarely care to write Steam reviews. Like, never rarity levels. DRG earned it.

World of Tanks in space meets MOBA, being F2P with no F2P nonsense attached to it (no premium ammo, no premium ships, no tiers, nothing like better or worse craft - just size and roles with unique skills), quite generous credit gain rate and build from the ground up on Unreal Engine 4 (meaning it looks and runs very well). If this sounds good, go for it. I did and I am having a blast.

Short, but amazing experience that won't dissapoint fans of Bastion or action RPG's in general. Sky-high production values, interesting and original story, replayability for those who are into NG+ runs.

Transistor is unique and it has a soul. Play it.
