This game, at its core, is very good. However, I have mainly two complaints that I do have with it. For one, the community can be, at some times, very toxic. You could just be playing a hero you personally enjoy and someone in chat will flame you just for that alone. This game does offer some good moments where you meet nice and chill people. I have met some very good friends of mine on this game that I have played with for a while now. The second complaint that I have with this game is that some characters are not as viable against many others and that some characters are slightly op. You could enjoy playing a certain hero but struggle to win, simply because either your kit is worse than the character you're playing or the other character has a better kit. The developers have given way for the meta in this game to be focused around bashes and 50/50's. If your character doesn't have a bash or viable one, you're screwed and have to wait for your opponent to attack constantly because that's the only way you can deal damage. If your character doesn't have a 50/50, then you can't deal that much damage. The developers have given some confusing recovery times on certain moves on certain characters as well. A good example for this would be Black Prior's shield bash. This move deals stamina drain and damage, yet you cannot guard break them when you dodge it. Unless you are playing a character that has a dodge attack, you essentially cannot stop Black Prior when it comes to this move, which gives way for not all, but many Black Prior mains to spam this move a lot. Another thing that is probably the most frustrating and annoying thing out there is dodge-rolling out of a mixup. Highlander, Shugoki, and Warden mains probably deal with this almost everyday. Today I decided to play some Shugoki and ran into a dominion match against some competitive players. I soft feinted my unblockable into a demon's embrace to get my stamina back and all of these opponents of mine dodge-rolled away when I tried this. It is extremely annoying to deal with this and honestly the Ubisfot developers should find a way to fix this, because it's hard to play a character if my opponent is just going to neglect choosing one of the 50/50 options, which gets rid of any potential damage I can do. If the Ubisoft developers can improve characters that are not viable and get rid of some annoying recovery times, spam, and improve dealing with the dodge-roll mechanic, then this game can definitely do extremely well. This game though, has given me some good times more than bad times. Learning the game can feel frustrating at first, but can feel very rewarding when you learn your character and how to play against other characters. It also is very rewarding to deflect someone, win a 1v2+ situation, or do some other satisfying thing. In my opinion, that gratification that you can get by those ways and more have made me always come back to this game. Sure losing the game from characters you may find annoying can seem frustrating, but the pros do outweigh the cons. If you're been mainly playing only one character and start losing with them, then maybe pick up a different character. It doesn't hurt to try out a new character, because it will make you a better player. I find myself being able to handle characters that I main easily because I have developed their mindset, which shows how learning other characters can help you immensely. One more thing I would add is that a lot of players in this game think that a certain character (in their opinion) may seem annoying to play against. To those players I would tell them to play that character that they think is annoying. It'll show you how balanced or overpowered or maybe even underpowered they may seem. It's better to know how an actual character works than just die once to them and think it's their character and not you. I have played this game for quite a while, and I thought now I could give my full review of this game. This game has a lot of potential and can be very fun to play, but also can feel very frustrating to play at times. This game can be very chill, competitive, and fun to play, and I think that this game's pros outweigh the cons that are involved if you give this game enough time. Also if you get emote spammed then your opponent is really annoyed with you, trying to annoy you, or you just ledged or rekt lol.

I got this game completely for free and it's absolutely worth my time. One of the best games I've played, very good gameplay, pretty good graphics considering the time of the release, and a pretty fun story. I really loved the time i spent with the game. I'm sad that now i will uninstall it, definately it will remain in my heart.

I really like GRID 2 and I think it's the best racing game on Steam. Just keep in mind that it's not a racing simulator like GRID. It's Need for Speed: Greatest Hits. I can see huge chunks of various NFS games put into the game nicely like Touge on the California Dixon track at night is a canyon race from Carbon, sponsor decals, body and performance mods are from Underground, circuit races strongly remind me of ProStreet. Cote d'Azur track alone reminds me of Porsche Unleashed and brings a smile to my face. Codemasters made a great arcade racing game.
The graphics are gorgeous, physics is awesome in terms of car behavior, online matchmaking is great and single player campaign is fun to play and interesting to progress. AI can be easily adjusted to a desired difficulty.
After some hours in-game assistant's voice became rather annoying and I turned it off along with generic soundtrack. I wish there were several assistants to choose from. DLCs certainly crippled the game. Extra tracks and cars just don't fit in properly, e. g. you can't use Ford Sierra RS500 online and nobody races on Bathurst unless you create a custom lobby and invite friends to play it. The lack of cockpit view is unfortunate. Also I wish there were Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches but don't get me wrong, the game is great fun and there's a lot of cars to choose from.
