Works out of the box on Linux, quite unlike Prepare to Die, in addition to looking better. As such it gets my strong recommendation.

Boring, repetitive and borderline unplayable without mods; also weird performance issues even on relatively powerful machines. I love the game with its modding scene, but cannot in good conscience recommend you spend your money on it.
