What can be said that hasn't been said before?

Fact: this was the last game my father played before dying of cancer. He was 50 and would just set up a turret and camp for hours and hours.

hypothesis: TF2 gave my dad cancer

I miss the old graphics but other than that, this has all the old mechanics and more.

really confusing if you play it for the first time a few days before christmas

EDIT: ok 71 hours played, 70 in the past week. Yeah. This is the real deal. I am so so invested in every character I play. like emotionally painstakingly intertwined. Their final death is a major blow to my psyche. The lore is rich. There are soooooo many powers (talents) and traits to invest in. This game is such a labor of love and I love every minute of it.

Give it a chance. I bought this game about 9 years ago and never put more than 30 minutes into it. Now, I played a whole 6 hour life and thought, meh. Then I tried a new class and found the experience very different. I do think it lacks sparkle and world building that other roguelikes have, but to compare it to ♥♥♥ would not be appropriate. yes it might be a bit generic, but the mechanics are fun and interesting, and what flavor it does have, however overdone, is authentic. 7.5/10

This game is not for everyone. but. This game is exactly for me.

I like minecraft. I like roguelinkes I like ♥♥♥. I like when losing hurts. This game makes losing hurt. You have all you need right in front of you to do a great job. Its greed and pride where you get in trouble.

Yes the main complaint is that its the same stuff over and over. And I for one like this. I like doing the same thing with unique challenges. Small changes that require small planning difficulties. This is fun to me. I love the small differences between ships and the little things that make one mission different than the next. Over stretching myself until I deeply regret my decision.

Good god this is a good game. The mechanics are so unique. truly a easy to get hard to master situation
