As of right now, the game need more time in the oven. Between server issues, a tutorial only given after level 10, and the fact that teammates that disconnect become hostile invincible AI make the game currently unplayable. There's stuff here, there's a game in here, but game breaking time wasting glaring issues make this a no brainer to not play until resolved.

Gameplay is fun but this is early access. The game makes you wait in line to play a single player tutorial, you have no access to any options until you log in waiting in line for an hour. After playing for a while if you crash you now have black screens on boot up. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't fix it, verifying, nothing fixes it. SONY slapped their logo all over the place for this game, so I admittedly don't really give much wiggle room on this launch snafu. No Matchmaking available since i bought it, so in short unless you have a full squad of friend before you launch you cant have a full team.

Game doesn't work as intended. This should not be listed as a full release. Game currently will not launch despite launching in the past. Leave the cookies in the oven for a bit longer on this one, let it get its crap together because right now this is unforgivable

Early Access Review
This game is so close to being incredible, but there is such an issue with balancing, Quality of Life, UI, along with actual bugs you can't play the game for that long without running into a no win situation.

There's really solid ideas in this game, The skill trees, the ability to make really cool builds and combos are certainly there. HOWEVER, it won't be long before the build you enjoy comes across a boss or something that prevents you from using a build. It says the game is balanced for any size party but i have my doubts. 2 examples that stand out:
-A fight with MANY minions that all poison on attack, or when being attacked. If your mage casts an AOE, he's dead next round. If you kill them one at a time, theyll get lots of time to hit you and stack just as much poison. There are just so many lose-lose scenarios.
-The game ender: The Mirror. If you ever fight the mirror, you lose. It starts with more HP than you can deal round 1. Then it summons clones of your party that has your damage, all your moves, and more hp than your guys. If you don't kill your clones in i believe 3 turns, it summons another batch. The mirror is invulnerable while clones are alive. It's mathematically impossible to win, and i don't know why they do this.

Events, which are required to get fortunes, often times lead to these game ending events. Feats of strength at MOST add like, +2 to a D20 roll. adding 2 to a 20 is silly, unless the d20 is just a graphic and its not actually d20 probability based, which i suspect.

I really want to enjoy this game, you can play it for a while and have a lot of fun, but the balancing and all the other problems in this game will make you lose your mind at some point in your play through. Hell, some of the abilities you get don't ectually do the thing they say they do. Salvation in the light tree says if you put a holy spell on someone they get a healing over time on them. Nope, Salvation gives you 5% max hp buff. The problems are just all over the place. Worst of all of them being: rolled the dice, decided that means you lose the game.

Long review, but needed. Fun, but with a major problem. Latency. In a game where there is only multiplayer, and realistically only quick play, it's insane to me how often you find yourself against someone with 300 ping. Now, In normal games, ping may not be so important, but they made it SO precise, OR random? Not sure. but to stun a hunter you have to be SO accurate it hurts. Or maybe you don't and theres just a chance? But when someone can't pick their region and come in with 300+ ping, you can stun someone, and then a full second after, they kill you while stunned its insane. The order of events happen seconds apart, yet all at once. I get killed, hands and knees on the floor, when suddenly, my camera goes off. Used but to no effect. Is it ping? is it coding? We may never know.

The imbalance between certain hunters, is only comparable to the designs of a drunken rush job. Imposter single handedly undoes the main mechanics of the game. They can do everything you can, but their damage is permanent. Survivors rely on mobility, speed, and the slight warning that the killer is near. He prevents all of those advantages. It's as if they came up with a list of core mechanics, then wondered what would happen if they simply threw it out.

When the game first launched, they gave survivors a fighting chance. When picked up, you could wobble and break free. Impair the hunters movement quite a bit. They then "fixed it" by making wobbling do almost nothing at all, and adding approximately 400 chairs per map. This combination means you can put bodies in chairs from ALMOST anywhere on the map, even if the closest chair is gone, there's another close by, don't you worry.

The game breeds a toxic environment. The in game chat options include cross team taunts. The voice chat goes cross team FORCED. You cannot talk over a microphone except to the entire game server. No team chat, UNLESS you type it? The purpose of this, seems more than flawed. When you DO decide to use in game chat, a GIANT mic icon appears over your head for the hunter to see. This is HORRIBLY thought out and only serves as a way to make for an awful experience.

Speaking of toxicity, If a hunter decides to kill you, and not put you in a chair, they can run the clock, for a full 5 minutes, without you having ANY way of surrendering or leaving without a timeout. As is the killer being crappy and taunting/teabagging essentially gets away with no punishment, but you choosing not to sit there and take it, deserves penalty.

The game itself at its core, is a very fun time. Get this with 4 other friends that live close by, and you will have a really solid time. Solo Queue however, will lead to rage similar to Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy, and blood pressure similar to that of the air in your tires. When i can, I really enjoy it, when conditions are perfect. When the game came out, things were a little closer to balance. Now if you're a hunter you can jump, or stand elevated, and swing a full character model under your feet 2 shotting anyone, while making "bonking them" near Impossible. 10/10, after the full balance overhaul that so desperately needs to be done.

Nothing like the first two, anyone purchasing this with a love for the franchise will be massively dissapointed. I looked forward to this for months and when me and 3 friends hooked up and played we beat it in 16 hours and about an hour in started the complaining and not once let up. It made us sad and completely forget about buying the season pass as no amount of DLC can fix unless for free they gave you a new game. Ways to fix: Give us these characters to play in Borderlands 2. And by that will fix it it means it will give me an option to choose from when wanting to play these characters. Oh, and the "comedy" in this game made us all cringe and furious. Not one actual chuckle as opposed to full on laughter in the pass
