TLDR: It's a good remake, feels exactly like the original just looking much nicer and with a few more QOL features. The changes a lot of people complained about for a while until they found another game that made them mad are blown way out of proportion.

The thing that most people and fake "concerned gamers" complain about on Twitter is the content that was altered between the original and now. In practice, after completing 72 hour mode, the differences from the original are really not intrusive or obvious at all. One or two lines of dialogue were changed and the "erotic" photo category no longer exists. I suspect this is because Japan has historically had issues with gross old men taking creepshots of women in public and that Capcom (a Japanese studio) looked back on this with the context of the modern day and thought "maybe this isn't such a good feature". I really didn't miss its inclusion and I'm glad I no longer get told by the game that my photo that contained a zombie that was wearing a low cut dress was sexy.

The only omission I actually care about is that Capcom didn't even try to contact TJ Rotolo to reprise his role as Frank West, but the silver lining is the new actor puts in a solid performance that really tries to mimic Rotolo as best he can.

As for *actual* issues, it's crashed more than a few times. Sometimes, randomly, it will crash on ALT+TAB, but usually it won't. I also noticed it was a lot more unstable if the Discord voice overlay was active. I blame Denuvo for a majority of the crashes, though. If that's what's stopping you from picking it up, I've heard that Capcom tends to remove Denuvo after a certain sales target has been reached, so you can wait for that.

I'm clicking "Yes" to recommend because there's no "meh" and I don't think it's a bad game.

Essentially, the game runs out of steam as early as 40 stages into its 100 stage run length, and that's "run" as in roguelite. Once you unlock all the buildings and get a mildly respectable setup (much easier than you would expect) you become untouchable and the game plays itself.

Each randomly generated map has finite resources and when you run out, which is, again, easier to do than you might think, I ran out by stage 70 on my winning run, there's basically nothing to do. I already had an unbeatable setup so all that was left to do was deconstruct my gathering buildings and continue to bunker down as I had been doing.

The monster swarms don't really get harder either, they may get more numerous and different enemies start to show up, but no matter what seemed to come they couldn't make a dent. It got very boring.

The positives are that the style is very cute, the initial gameplay is definitely fun and rewarding, and there is something to be said for a nice simple tower defense game. I just think it's twice as long as it needs to be. 50 stages would be a lot better than 100.

I wish I didn't have to give this a negative review but here's the thing: Valve has been perfectly content to sit back and do absolutely nothing for the past 5 years to stop a group of chucklefukcs from flooding their game with bots that automatically queue for matches and aimbot and kick real players WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY putting out 2 or 3 lootboxes a year with new community-made cosmetics, as in they're not even making the microtansaction cosmetics, they're outsourcing that to the poor community members who are still producing free content for Valve to make money off of.

It's actually disgusting that they continue to cash in on this game while doing nothing to make sure it's even playable at a bare minimum. I've been playing TF2 since August 2009 when I bought The Orange Box as a physical product at Target and it completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks to see the state it's in. There you go, no wall of text, just a plain statement of disgust. It's unbelievable that a company with functionally infinite money can treat one of its flagship IPs and truly one of the pillars of gaming like less than trash.

To tell the truth, I'm too cynical to really expect #fixtf2 to do anything, so this review isn't really a cry for help. It's just a normal negative review warning people away from the game. At one time it was one of the greatest games ever made, but that time is over now. It's a languishing shell of what it once was and I'm sorry but you missed the boat. The time to get into it was years ago. Don't bother. Valve doesn't care and neither should you.

Waited for this game for months and it was well worth it and then some. Everything in this game just works so perfectly that going down the list would be a waste of time, all I would say about everything is "it's fantastic" from the guns, to the sound design, to the levels, to the beautiful style of the graphics.

If you enjoy shooters then buy it. Buy it now.

This is the best Half-Life 2 related *thing* I have ever played. Yes, even over Half-Life 2 and the episodes. Legitimately, no exaggeration, there were no low points. It started high and stayed there the entire time. I don't want to give anything away, honestly, the story is fantastic especially for a free mod. I honestly would have paid like at least $20 for this easily.

Long story short: it's free, it's incredible, why are you not playing it right now?

I honestly don't know why this game is so addicting, but it really is. When I pipck it up again, I'll play for hours each day. It's hard to put down. My theory is that it scratches the same kill -> loot -> return itch that Fallout 4 and 76 hit, but there's probably more to it.

That said, it's been in alpha for nearly a decade and performance ranges from pretty good to literal slideshow during horde nights, which are every 7 days. I've tried lowering graphics and getting performance mods, but at some point you have to blame the game when your 2070 is struggling to render 12 zombies at once at an acceptable framerate.

The only major complaint I have is that everything is *so ridiculously slow.* There's more downtime than uptime in this game and after a certain point I feel like the game stage is outpacing me because I'm just getting levels and perks so slowly. I download mods to speed up XP/perk gain and increase inventory size so there's less grinding and running back and forth between one or two locations and my home base.

I still recommend it. Despite its flaws, it's still really fun, even more so with friends (though that goes for pretty much any multiplayer game).

TL;DR: It's great. Very cute, very serene. The puzzle element is light enough to keep you engaged but not frustrate or block you, and there's a robust creative mode.

Picked this up in the Serene City-Builder Bundle and, while this is not really about city-building per se, this is one of the most chill and cute games I've played. The gameplay consists of building little dioramas of abandoned/post-apocalyptic(?) spaces while also attaching various plants to the ground, walls, and roofs of them. The goal of each puzzle is to reach what the game considers sufficient plant coverage. This is generally easy to do, which is great because that gives you some wiggle room to be artistic with your item placements. There's not really a clearly optimal path for the levels as you're not limited by what type of plants you can place, so you're free to experiment. I personally find trees to be a good way to fill a lot of the meter.

Important note, for people not interested in puzzles who just want to play with the game's creative mode, I noticed an "Unlock Everything" button in the settings menu. While I won't be using it, it's definitely a very thoughtful edition for people just looking for an artistic tool.

A fantastic and short-ish walking sim style adventure game with light puzzles and surreal fantasy/horror elements. The visual style is perfectly PSX and the soundtrack is fantastic, each track is memorable and catchy and perfectly suited to the area it plays in.

You play as a dreamer. Your mission is to explore various dream (and nightmare) worlds to recover pieces of a shattered Dream Crystal and restore the dreamscape to its former glory. These world are 10-20 minute self-contained quest areas where you'll have a simple task such as finding a lost pet, venturing through a mine, or simply reaching the end of a path. Once your task is complete, you'll find or be presented with a shard of the crystal. None of the areas really connect to each other since they're all distinct dreams, but each one has a fun, offbeat, solemn, or downright creepy arc that wraps up in a satisfying way.

The game is very well paced and the puzzles are fairly easy to solve. You're unlikely to get lost in the levels. There is also a hint system where your objective will be marked with a little sparkle, but this doesn't always show up. There was only one time I got stuck, and unfortunately the sparkle didn't point toward the character I had to speak to. Given that there are only a half a dozen or so interactive objects in each area, though, it's impossible to be stuck for long.

One of the coolest parts of the game is that it has whole secret levels found by exploring the main areas. These aren't small side areas, they're fully fleshed-out levels about the same size as the core levels with unique themes and NPCs. The only issue is once you complete any of the core levels, you can't go back. This makes it slightly frustrating for secret-hunting, as you need to play the game again to revisit a level. It would be nice to be able to return to the hub after completing the story with the ability to replay areas. Sometimes they're really easy to find, but I definitely missed some, because there are areas I've seen in trailers and in the community hub that I never came across in my first playthrough.

Having not experienced a souls-style game before I can say that this was possibly the worst introduction to the genre I could have hoped for. I got this in the Humble Choice thing and I regret it. I can't believe the actual price of this game is $35, what a rip off.

I have to admit, I'm not familiar with the finer points of souls games and gameplay, but this left such a terrible first impression. In getting to the first boss, I had to get past these weird gigantic paladin type things which seem to serve as the difficulty wall to the boss. Only you can run right past them and I got farther taking down the boss in my first attempt than I got in 6 or 7 respawns with 15-25 second load times directly in front of the first spawn point between each attempt. Why is the boss easier than the enemies outside its arena?

Simply put, **the game is very withholding of important information,** mainly of the "how to play" variety. I shouldn't have to look at the wiki for utterly basic ♥♥♥♥. I think it assumes you've already played a bunch of souls style games before, but I guess that's my fault for trying something new. ♥♥♥♥ me, I guess. I should have taken the entrance exam before playing. Not content to only exclude tutorial messages, there is no feedback for important events, such as that stupid clock in the corner reaching certain times or when other players (according to several other reviews **this game either has no anti-cheat or the anti-cheat it has barely works** and it's shockingly easy to just change your stats) invade your game to kill you, even in what passes for this game's tutorial area. That's the gist of my review, but I'll describe exactly what turned me off below.

-----

In one attempt, I was exploring a side area nearby the boss arena that had a few of the basic easy enemies in it, but there was also a green version of myself blinking around the room and doing all kinds of ridiculously powerful attacks to me. I assume this is similar to the ghost thing I've heard about in Dark Souls where other players can invade your game, but I wasn't notified with a popup or anything and I couldn't find a way to disable this while I'm still milling about what I assume was the tutorial area trying to learn how to play the game. So there went another bunch of souls or whatever this game calls them.

I figured I should just try to grind a little bit, give it some time and get used to the combat before trying the tougher enemies. It's my first time with a souls style game and I know they're infamous for being difficult, so it follows that I should spend some time "gitting gud" rather than throwing myself at the boss or tougher enemies. I was enjoying the visual style of everything and the aesthetic of the world and I was interested to know more about it.

After accidentally discovering on my own how to spend my souls to increase my stats because **the game didn't think that information was worth sharing,** I went back into the lower area with all the really easy enemies. Except, for some unknown reason, there was now a giant demon with an absurd weapon that could reach across half the room hanging out where the easy enemies were supposed to be. Obviously I died again, losing *yet another* bunch of souls.

I thought I could get back down there quick and grab them then escape and try to increase my stats once more, but another ghost appeared, blinked around the room in a way that looked like severe lag spikes, and destroyed me. Then I respawned and found that the giant demon enemy that appeared for no reason was hanging around the spawn point. At this point I ALT+F4-ed because this game had blown past my tolerance level for garbage.

Bonus points for making me look up how to lower difficulty on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wiki, telling me to use the breach, then having the option to make it easier be grayed out and inaccessible and not telling me why. I also noticed an explanation for what the big clock that had been slowly ticking in the upper left area of the HUD was, beginning with:

**"The Black Hole Clock located in the top left corner on the screen next to the Health, Stamina and Energy bars plays a critical role in Hellpoint."**

Well shucks, maybe that might have been something to mention to a brand new player? Sure, tell me how to jump and sprint, but don't tell me what this game-affecting gimmick is or anything. Was the clock the reason there was a giant demon suddenly walking around and spawncamping me or was it that bar that randomly fills red or blue in the middle of the screen that only shows up sometimes and doesn't have an explanation? Might be a good idea to have some sort of notification that giant monsters have suddenly spawned and it would be a good time to get the lube in preparation for getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Either way, my save seems to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥, I can't spawn without dying and I don't feel like restarting and wasting another 45 minutes so honestly just ♥♥♥♥ this game.

Fantastic slavquake game impressively made on a custom engine coded entirely in Pascal. Oozes atmosphere and has some extremely fun shooting.

There are small bumps, the game seems a lot harder than I'd expect even on normal (compared to other throwback/boomer shooters I've played) and while you'll find plenty of ammo, there's a real lack of health pickups on the maps. Doubly so for armor. The dev responds to criticism very well, though, and regularly patches the game with several fixes and new additions, even going as far as to add two new weapons in the last major patch!

Definitely pick this up. I was waiting for it for months after playing the demo for the first time and I definitely was not let down.
