Early Access Review
hi, ive been gaming for the last 15 years and have slowly watched cd/dvd rom games vanish without so much as a fight, however with recent independent developers showing up in the light of day and are finally getting a platform to show their games off, Thanks steam although many years ago i hated you but now ive accepted you into my gaming life

Running With Rilfes is a perfect example of how steam has showcased a cracking game, it can be boring, it can be intense, it can be fun most of all, it has the perfect balance of pvp and pve, i only really play on pve so can comment on that.
at first i thought this games was going to be another one of those crap overpriced games made on a whim to make a quick buck (infestation style?) ohhh how i was wrong, after i watched a few youtube clips of it in action i thought what the hell might aswell and within about an hour i was bounding towards the frontline engaging in intense firefights with fellow players.

so what makes it so special you say?
NO STRAFING as such, this isnt CALL OF DUTY, if you run in the open guns blazing 9 tiimes out of 10 you will dies and lose your stuff, you have to think about where you want to go and how it will affect you and your people around you.

GUNS,
theres a good selection to choose from and each of them have their own stats and perks ranging from the L85A2 to the AK47 to a couple of sniper rifles and grenade launchers these have their own tatical advantages and disadvantages, so a little forthought into how you want play is needed as this games not "ive just emptied my clip into his head and hes only just died" every shot can kill you instantly.
theres also a range of rare guns you find by killing high level enemy soldiers and stash them for a later date or use them straight away, just dont die!

GRAPHICS,
Brilliant, games these days dont need to powered by the cryengine or unreal engine to be good these days, hey look at the first dues ex, powered by the first unreal engine and is still good to day as it was back in the day, this game has a good balance of gampeplay and graphics personally i think the graphics of this add to a certain character of this game and is very smartly done if i so say, however there a few glitches but none that will ever ruin the gameplay and fun of this incrediblae game

GAMEPLAY,
Ok at first when you start playing it yeah theres a good couple of hours where your just running getting mac'd up trying to find your place in the RWR world, but youll quickly find your style and before you know it youll have a massive sqaud attacking the objectives with other players in an all out frontline-esque battle, BUT WAIT theres two sides to this games theres the go in tatical with an assault rifle and shoot sh*t up or you can go in sneaky style and take out enemy installments for example anti air or radar etc etc all these help with winning the war and is sometimes vital to be able to push up on the frontline, SO how do you want to play? Would you like a side order of 9mm mp5sd and c4? coming right up sir!

COMMUNITY,
yeah the communnity is relatively small these days and do you know what i think if this game got really big and popular itd be completely mind blowing, everyone is extremely freindly and helpful, once i had a rare gun that i managed to loot from an enemy then got shot 5 mins down the road on the way to the stash someone else picked it up and gave it back to me so it wouldnt dissappear....10/10 for community spirit.

MAPS,
The maps are pretty good well thought out and alot of good fun :D but one thing thats keep them fresh is no games is ever like your last one! the battles are constantly juggling around so in your last game you might have got surrounded and ended up in a fight for your life whereas the next youll be sprinting from the trenches in a all out charge for ground they are just exemplary, HOWEVER saying that i do wish they made a easier map editor or possibly one that is a dlc or something that is easier to do than using third party programs, how i crave to fight in my home town! if the devs made a map editor that is easy to use but still retaining the complexity of the devs maps. id pay for it if not double what i payed for that actual game as it would open up so many different avenues for replayablility (the game has tonnes of it anyway) but still i would like to defend my hometown against the greycollars haha.

Overall i think this game has alot going for it already and its not even finished yet, but it already feels polished and finished but every now and then a glitch might happen but saying that i know games that are finished and have more problems than america, i know this is a long review but if it sways your decision to buy and play this game youll not regret it.

this goes to the developers, keep up with the good worlk, keep doing what your doing and people will come
i abosolutley love your game and hope for more features, your doing a great job so far!

p.s can you add a feature where i can put my name on my rare gun??

Will
