Early Access Review
An intricate tower-defense game with a unique art-style and atmosphere; the building aspect is well done and very easy to dive into, but also offers many tools and systems for players to learn/master. Strategy and precision is rewarded, especially on tougher difficulties. Functionally plays as an RTS, but with the ability to pause and rewind to key moments prior, the challenge is there without ever feeling too overwhelming.

The story is grim, but very interesting and serves as a "learn-as-you-go" tutorial for those not quite ready for everything the game has to offer all at once. There is also an endless mode - which is exactly what you're hoping it is - and a newly added sandbox mode, allowing players to mess around with ideas and builds without risking the resources in the other game modes.

All in all, a very beautiful game that is clearly a labor of love by the developers. Single-player only, but you are able to save+share blueprints in the Steam Workshop. Fingers crossed for some sort of co-op mode in the future!!

Cataclismo gets a 9.5/10 from me, and as it is still in Early Access, it will only get better. :)

This game really bums me out; as much as I LOVE the idea of this game and the atmosphere it has built in each and every one of it's levels, this game has been unplayable for me since I've bought it. I keep coming back every time I hear there's been an update to check it out, and every single time I log out disappointed. For some reason (and I don't have this problem with any other game), whenever I try and run this game - even on the lowest settings - my FPS absolutely tanks.

Anywhere near a lighting fixture? Tanks. Anywhere near something with animations? Tanks. An enemy detects me and decides to turn a corner on me? Tanks. I have looked up YouTube videos, I've tuned my computer settings, I've fiddled with game settings and turned everything down to it's lowest settings just to prove the point, something about this game absolutely does not run correctly whatsoever for me, and the amount of videos I've found online tells me I'm not the only one.

It's really a shame because when the game is working, the level of suspense and realism this game can provide shows a lot of promise, but for me particularly, I can't recommend it because I can't even play it.

So I guess here's to continuing to hope the developers do some serious optimization changes or something in the future. :(

simple, but fun game with a D&D-esque feel to it. There are several game modes you can play and a lot of different systems that improve replayability as you spend more time with the game. My only gripe is I wish I could play with more than three people at once!
