As someone who had Doom 2 as his first "proper" game, here's the jist:

13/10. It's like Half-Life and Doom 2 had an unholy deformed lovechild and nursed it to adulthood so they could strap knives and rockets to it and unleash it on the world to wreak havoc. With a metal soundtrack. It's the exact correct blend of nostalgia, adrenaline and the more modern, modular gear style of shooters nowadays.
