Rapidly closing in on 2,000 hours (about 1900 on BNet) in this game for reference. So uh... I guess that makes me qualified to give a review on it?

The good:

- Very satisfying gunplay, on just about every archetype in the game.
- Tons and I mean TONS of content, especially if you're a completionist like I am.
- Beautiful visuals if you care about that sort of thing.
- A lot of the game has become free to play in the latest update so you really have nothing to lose.
- VERY transparent developer in Bungie and a for the most part friendly and helpful community.

The bad:

- Sandbox updates have previously only happened with every new season, one of such being a time span of about three months. This has led to either PvP or PvE getting very dominated by a handful of guns in the past. Now that Bungie are entirely independent that might change, but that remains to be seen.
- If you do decide to sink a lot of time into this game you will inevitably come across a few QoL issues and the occasional infuriatingly long grind.

The ugly:

- It's literal crack. Steer clear if you want to keep any semblance of a social life.
