If I had to take a stab in the dark,I'd say more than everything,Jade is just indifferent of all of this happening. I'm certain that I'm not the first person to do something like this,and there's a good chance I'm not the last. Another day,another friend request. Why should I believe it's any different than the last 50 ones? Thus came to life the friend request rejecting algorithm written below. While I don't agree with it,I can understand where it came from. In the end,it's just your personal preference; Whatever you are willing to go through piles of what is likely garbage thrown at you frequently,because there may be some meaningful things inside. I can't blame anyone for not bothering.

I assume people notice that they have a new notification when they open the client,which I thought you did when I saw you going from online to in-game,but that's void if you use the right-click menu on the taskbar icon.
While your altitude regarding invites is more than udnerstandable(I expected an instant block,tbh),most people I've come accross with the same altitude had "Please comment before sending a friend request,or it will be ignored." or a similar statement on their unhidden profile description; This way they can be sure that their requester didn't put minimal effort into it. It could be argued that you were using that space quite efficiently until very recently,and I can think about a few reasons of why you haven't gotten into replacing it just yet,which would render this argument null.

You assume I religiously check my Steam notifications. I added you, saw you were offline, removed you. I do that a lot, because frankly, most people who randomly add me either bore the hell out of me OR are incapable of reading OR are bots OR all of the above. I don't have the time or energy to sit around waiting for someone to come online when, lately, chances are 97% good I don't care what they have to say. If you want me to keep you added, saying what you want might be a plan.
