New adventures await buddy!
I'm not sure what can be said here that others havent already said, but Crime Boss: Rockay City is an incredibly unique entry into the 4 player co op first person shooter genre. The most obvious comparison to these games is the Payday franchise, but I believe that this game is able to stand on its own compared to them. The 4 player co-op is incredibly enjoyable with friends and the single player roguelite campaign is surprisingly addictive. Steam does not show it, but I clocked in roughly 50-60 hours in the playtest before the game launched. I highly recommend this game if you're looking for a fun extremely cheesy 90s inspired co op shooter to play with your friends.

NEW EDITED REVIEW:
Yea, my last review aged real well. Update 237 not only added an entirely non functioning form of cross play with EGS, but completely disconnected the Linux playerbase from online play. Not only do they not get the last bit of content slated to release in June that they may have already potentially paid for, but they will never be able to play the game online at all even after years have passed. This is on top of the recent leaks related to Payday 3, which have contained more information than practically anything Starbreeze has told us for the marketing of their upcoming title. And of course, one of the leaks involves a premium currency. What are you doing Starbreeze??? What do you have to gain by stating 2023 is the year of Payday 3 when the year is already half over without any new information? I'm extremely concerned for the future of the franchise. This radio silence is unacceptable and will cost you financially if this is to continue.

EDITED REVIEW:

When Crimefest II rolled along in 2015, the community saw it as the end of an era, the end of a time where you could just rob banks happily. Microtransactions, terrible balance changes, the list goes on. However, Overkill being one of the few studios that actually listens to their community used their personalities to their advantage. With the removal of microtransactions and a host of free content for the community to enjoy, Payday 2 has finally risen back into the list of games you should most DEFINITELY play if you have a bunch of friends to spend time with. Buy some DLC, watch their streams, Overkill deserves the support they get after they managed to pull their heads out of their behinds.

Original Review:
At least Bad Rats doesn't have microtransactions.

This game really dissapointed me. The fact that they had the audacity to ask for $7 for a MOD made me rage when it was released. I was expecting it to be a free mod when it said Portal 2 was required to play this. I assumed it would be like one of those Hl2 or Portal 2 mods. The moment I loaded the game up for the first time, I was greeted by a horrendous main menu with an ultra low resolution. I mean, seriously? It's worse than consoles! I couldn't even set my resolution to my native resolution, which dissapointed me. I was also expecting this game to be alot more polished than it was. The paintgun model looked terrible in my opinion after seeing how the portalgun looked from 3 years ago. The only good thing about it was the jiggle bones. Even then, the puzzles are extremely easy to solve at certain point and then extremely difficult. We were promised achievements, which I never got, which just tempted me to turn on noclip to finish the damn game. I also had a problem with the loading system. There is no way to select your autosave except for a "continue" playing option, which ruled out using autosaves to get to parts that I wanted to look into more. Then again, the autosaves do not seem to come at the times where there are needed most. I could not stress this enough during the scene where you were limited to 50 seconds to finish the level, having to memorize every single platform and gel placement with no autosaves, only starting at the very beginning. At the very least, they added a button to skip the event which I was forced to do because half the time my gel wouldn't register. The ending was horrible, and the voice acting could have been better. The only good thing I had to give credit for was the soundtrack. It fits right into the Portal universe. Sadly, no games can be made better by just a soundtrack. Portal 2 had a better soundtrack in my opinion anyways. I replayed Portal 2 ten times because I just wanted to have the experience that a perfect game offers. I one day stumbled upon the mod page saying that it would be released this summer. I was excited for an addition to the Portal universe that looked professional. Instead, I was greeted by dissapointment. I would have to give a 2/10, for good music and thoughtful level design. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I would only reccomend getting this game if it went free from the amounts of complaints they are receiving. This should have been shut down just like that stupid fanmade Half Life 3 project.
