Nobody will see this apart from supporters, but..

This is an absolute joke of a company, the 1.0 release is an absolute clownfest, with a LOT of content being removed for.. whatever the hell reasons VOID has, from the Non Lethal category vanishing and making weapons harder to find, to removing weapons as well.
Let's go over that..

I did not buy a Supporter DLC, investing £100 into this game for what I bought as a consumer, to vanish seemingly.
You no longer have access to:
- FBI Hostage Rescue Team playermodel
- HRT Coyote Uniform Variant (Never made available)
- HRT Multicam Uniform Variant
- Mk1 Carbine
- FBI CBRN Gas Mask Headwear
- FBI "Defender" Tactical Shield
- "Entryman" B1301 Shotgun
- "PC19" G19 Pistol

In addition to that, despite all the supporter funding, they couldn't find voice actors and AI generated them, in addition, they also have AI proofreading which gets the subtitles wrong in MANY instances.
The first DLC for this game has been announced and is releasing in 5 days from this review, and if I get a cheap £10 DLC with a few maps and several guns for my investment, along with a devteam that removes content and misleads their supporters, then I can say that I do not support this game anymore. You can wave 'Early Access' to me all you want, but what the game has become feels further than what I supported a few years ago.

I'm sure these developers are competent, but whoever is leading them seems to have lost their marbles.
Sort yourself out, VOID, this is unacceptable.

After almost 12 long months of Spearhead 1944 being out, it has seen its first content release which brings it in line with the other CDLCs, giving more vehicles and weaponry to use. I was left with a sour taste in my mouth after seeing how lackluster it was compared to the other CDLCs which felt more worth their value even at launch, like Cold War Germany, or S.O.G.

I'm apprehensive about the development still, but I'll give it a recommendation as the cost/value ratio has been levelled out a bit more. According to the developers, they cannot share much of what they're working on, but shared the fact that they were working on an update in their Discord, but because I don't bother with that sort of stuff, I didn't know, and assumed Spearhead was another dead in the water WW2 content pack.

If you have a group willing to use this CDLC, it can be worth it, but like with most CDLCs, its a bit of an investment, unlike a mod.

Review prior to 1.1 (Thanks for the free points):

They abandoned this DLC. What's up with WW1/WW2 mods on ARMA 3 just dying? Even worse that this one is PAID. What the hell, Bohemia..

SONY has somehow clashed two braincells together and made the PSN update not go forward. They'll never be able to roll back 200,000 negative reviews though.
I recommend this game, but I also recommend looking through the big paragraph under the next line, it explains my thoughts on this game, which are harsh.

- Old Review -
A new game seems to come out every month that gets mass adopted, loved, and then not long later, fumbles the ball so hard that it wallows in the pits of 'has-beens'.

What was initially fun became just this long, sisyphus-like slog upwards, with the gameplay loop getting pretty repetitive and un-fun at around level 40, and while I'm not sure I know how to have fun, the PSN linkage wasn't the only problem. Props to the devs for making such a solid experience and making it what it is, but the balancing was just.. not there, and it feels like the content was, as ever, taken off the production line just barely cooked enough to be edible, among the very mild power-creep there seems to be.
Sure, the latest content has to be greatest, but there are boosters in this game that cost upwards of 150 medals that are just inferior to other boosters. Why would you use anything else when 'everything else' just knocks off 5 seconds from some timer that already takes 2+ minutes? Or a booster that reduces slowdown, except, wait, hold on, it only proves somewhat viable on snow planets.

Get in line kiddos, and let's wait for the next company's game in a few months, to fumble their product in the golden spotlight of the Internet.

My inner child needed this game.

Thank you for bringing this back, no exclusive, no extras, just a cheap, nostalgic game. Bless you, Walaber.

WISHLIST RESONITE, ITS MADE BY THE DEVELOPERS BEHIND NEOS THAT ACTUALLY CARE!
https://steamproxy.net/steamstore/app/2519830/Resonite/

Not recommended? It's a long story.
TL;DR: Crypto-bro joins Developer team, guides the platform to be a crypto/nft paradise, recently tried to claim full ownership, screwing other developers in the process.

Before all of the drama went down, would I recommend it? I think my hours speak for themselves. This is one of the few things I have 1000 hours in, and.. I enjoyed every single one of them.
Goodbye, NEOS, and hello to Resonite.

Very expensive, and rough around the edges.

But honestly, you can have a pretty good time with a buddy you know really well.

Good game. Better than Beat Saber in my opionion, but..

The songs that have been added recently don't really fit, I don't like them.
The gameplay is really fun though, if absolutely brutal on higher difficulties, it feels like notespam.

In summary, absolutely fun game, but, the song choices of recent have not been very pleasant to play, they either drag on too much or just feel same-y, which is a shame because what they're doing with this game is wonderful, its a game that finally holds a candle to other rhythm VR games, and stands above most. I hope the song choices can be rectified, and my complaints will fully vanish.

Holy hell.

I was initially scared by the high price of Rimworld, but after buying on their site for the Prototype Pack and spending 26 hours in this game (4 in the tutorial world by myself) I can safely say that, while the initial price may be a hike for some, this has got to be a game that scratches a certain, unexplained itch. It has colony elements that could soothe a psychopath and combat that could stress even the toughest nuts.

Pawns are alive, they breathe, they have statuses, little bios, everything, they have some level of depth.
All of this is rolled into a package with a unique 'Storyteller' AI system which isn't even very intrusive, a sort of click and forget system, unless you hate yourself and choose the hardest settings with the most brutal story tellers, but alas.

This is a game I initially had ignored on Steam for a long while, until I got it and installed a multiplayer mod to play with friends, and I can safely say, that this game is pure bliss with friends. Colonies breathe while you get to tend to it to help it thrive.

Mods patch this game up beautifully, fixing whatever you deem is annoying, to overhauling systems and such, though vanilla plays just as well too.

I myself hate strategy games, but I found that Rimworld rolls a beautiful red rug over all the stress of having to manage 50 windows to remind your armies to inhale oxygen, creating this package of bliss that resembles playing Stardrew Valley for the first time, at least for me.
Not just pawns, but furniture can have life, chairs can depict epic scenes of colonists doing various things, huge grand marble structures can depict scenes like pawns passed out from exhaustion or these epic, lavish scenarios.

My review is a mess but, this game is so unique, letting you do as you please with mechanics of Prison Architect but giving the people you meet and play life, past just the names, allowing you to take in raiders and give them a huge redemption arc. One of the raiders that initially wanted me dead is now one of the most proficient members of the colony, having found relationships with other colonists and forming bonds they never would have made if they'd have been squared between the eyes for being 'just another raider'.

My final note is honestly that I've been having immense fun with this game despite strategy elements and other variables that I would have otherwise hated.

Absolutely recommend, but try and save yourself some money, I bought it full price off the site, but I am really happy with the plunge I made instead of waiting for a sale.

Please add GLAMOCASTER, its like, the only thing missing from these 5 hours.

I don't want to have to use other means to get it.

Its good, bought it for cheap.

I'm not gonna be 'that guy' so I recommend it despite its stupidly brutal difficulty.
Can't get past the second stage because of this, but hey, the music is good.

Isn't fun for me due to the difficulty, but it may be your cup of tea if you hate yourself.
