If you expect to micro manage your wars as intensely as in HOI4, then you will be very disappointed.
The War mechanics seem rather simple, the bigger management focus of the game is to stay in Power: control your Vassals and strike down Peasant uprisings, build relations with other Kingdoms etc.
All that while trying to build up your economy, military and alliances.

Also you can breed dynasties to be basically super humans or to be complete failures in terms of basic human functions.
The game really give you enough options to f*ck with the DNA of your dynasty or those of another dynasty

The Joke "My daughter wants to be a princess.... so i married her off to a stranger to strengthen my alliance with France" is very fitting throughout the game.
