The Half Life series has always been about innovation. Physics, voiced NPCS, new forms of HDR. But at its core, Half Life is about one thing. Really, really good games. The kind of games you can play and go, wow, that was amazing; I wish all games were like this.

Half Life: Alyx is absolutely no exception. It is, at its core, an incredibly immersive, unbelievably beautifully crafted world. It's filled with interactivity, with easter eggs and details. As a Virtual Reality game, it goes above and beyond what I thought would be possible. It's been said before that there exists quadruple A games and developers. I completely believe that this is one of those games. It has so wildly set the bar for VR that I don't think any game will be able to surpass this for many, many years.

The ending alone, without spoiling anything, is incredible. Everything about this game just blows my mind.

I was initially hesitant on Russels involvement in the game, but due to the, albeit, strangely sparse spattering of voiced NPCS, I'm glad I had him throughout the whole playthrough.
