I really enjoyed this game. The sprite art and music are both great, the controls and mechanics make sense, it's relatively short and affordable, and it's just some uncomplicated fun!

There are a lot of things to nitpick at. The sound effects feel random (i.e. no cohesive style tying them together) and are sometimes oddly mixed. Having dash be double tapping left/right lead me to several times send myself flying over an edge when I was trying to carefully line up a jump. The collectibles (coins, the cat parts) seem pointless. The antagonist's motivation and plan were pretty vague. Why are there mainly dog enemies – but sometimes also other animals?

But nothing detracts too heavily from the game's quality and my enjoyment of it. It's an easy recommendation, and I looking forward to seeing more from the developer!

Ott and Graff. ❤️

This is a great little game that really scratches some itches that are rarely scratched by modern games. Characters you care for, colourful and cartoonish designs, engaging story that's (mostly) easy to follow, great soundtrack, and fun combat button mashing. The voice acting is really excellent, sounding warm and animated without sounding overly cartoonish.

As a bonus, the developer has been very responsive to the community and is frequently fixing little bugs that get reported. Always nice to see!

Definitely recommend this one.

I wanted to like this game, but there were so many things that were wrong, and by the end I was getting pretty fed up with the whole thing and I just wanted it to end. Then the ending itself was an anticlimactic cliffhanger that left a lot of questions unexplained.

My main issue is that if you're exhausting every dialogue option and every description – as is common in point & click games – the game gets very tedious and lengthy. So many screens have multiple points to click, with multiple descriptions, which are read at a leisurely pace. Many of them are irrelevant to the story and characters, often they're references or mediocre jokes. The characters you speak to have a lot of fluff dialogue, again delivered at a leisurely pace, with occasional references and mediocre jokes.

When it comes to the actual voices, there are a lot of cartoonishly over-the-top eclectic accents/dialects that make little sense and start to grate. The voices are clearly recorded in different rooms and locations, you can hear occasional unpleasant mouth noises, and many voices lack the presence they should have. More care should have gone into the voice recording and editing.

Several of the Kickstarter rewards were also clashing with the game play experience. I would click a statue or a street name, and the characters would go on praising the individual ("wow, this must be one cool dude" or similar). At times I would be confused as to the character's reactions, why they were so positive, and how it was relevant to the plot, before doing some Googling and realising it was Kickstarter backer tiers. Kickstarter content should never confuse players and detract from the gaming experience.

I could go on talking about the plot and graphical design, but writing this review is already starting to get on my nerves. I hope their next game will be better!

STAY AWAY. It's a very buggy game. It can break on you, sometimes irrecoverably (which is what happened to me two thirds through the game).

In addition, the plot is mostly nonsensical, you'll waste a lot of time figuring out how to progress, and the controls are clunky.

So just stay away.

It's like Jackbox, but it quickly cycles between different modes. It's fun, especially the video caption segment. A good Jackbox option.

But note that it hasn't been updated for a long while and it looks like the developers aren't working on anything else. Hoping they will keep the servers up so people can keep playing.

Sadly, I can't recommend this game, old bean. Ragnar Tørnquist, the game's writer, usually has a wonderful way of writing dialogue and likable, interesting characters. But this game's two protagonists, Alice and Edward, are thoroughly unlikable with some frustrating dialogue.

This could be okay if the story was good. While the story is intriguing and you want to learn more, its conclusion is far from satisfying. It ends up as another standard pretentious walking simulator where it's more about impressing you with predictable psychological plot twists than making a cohesive, engaging narrative experience.

On the plus side, the music is excellent (though underused).

I love the idea of murder mysteries and horror stories set in Scandinavian olden times, and the pun "fjord noir" makes me smile. It's such a shame that Draugen wasn't better.

A flawed game (generally dull gameplay, large empty worlds you have to spend time running through), but a brilliant narrative. Had me almost crying at the end. So many great moments, concepts, and characters.

If you love narrative games, The Longest Journey saga/trilogy is a must-play. This was a fitting and bittersweet end.

Rest in peace, Alec Holowka.

This game wouldn't have been possible without you, and your music has meant so much to so many. Including me and my boyfriend.

I love a good narrative game, and this is not a good narrative game. It is, in fact, one of the few games that made me feel insulted.

The writing is pretentious and clunky. It is supposed to be a dialogue between a couple, but no one talks like this (especially not an intimate couple). The story that is told is mundane and dull, but is presented as if it's profound. I was rolling my eyes and shifting uncomfortably in my chair through much of the prose.

I strongly advice that you do not waste your time on this game. Try Shelter or Night in the Woods instead.

This was a nice surprise! I knew nothing about it, but bought it during a Steam sale as it looked pretty decently animated (and there's not much animation available on Steam so far). It's a story about a young and naïve magical creature and his journey. Or rather, the start of his journey. Would be great if they did a follow-up some day.

If you do watch it, be sure to watch it in French.

Good:

- An endearing protagonist that's hard not to like.
- An interesting world full of fun ideas and characters with a certain French feel to it.
- Great animation.
- The French dub is super cute!
- Easy to get into, with a story that will enthrall you to the point where you'll be too busy enjoying the ride to be able to predict what will happen next.

Bad:

- There's some obvious and awkward flash animation in places (in particular the narrator scenes). Fortunately they're brief.
- No extras. No commentary tracks, no trailers, no interviews, no deleted scenes, no anything.
- Only available as a stream, not as a download.
- The English subtitles seem to be based off the English audio, not the French audio. There should've been subtitles for both options.
- The English dub is pretty poor.
- Why is there no follow-up?! I want to see more of the Bow Meows!
