I've really tried to like this game despite the piss-poor performance at times and numerous graphical and gameplay affecting bugs (or mechanics, if some of them are intended), only because of its relation to Batman and Gotham. But I just can't. The main and side stories are so meh and the fighting is so poorly executed (Red Hood is the most "fun" but perhaps a bit overpowered due to his pistols).

Spend your money on something else or wait for a huge sale.

Early Access Review
At its current state I'd recommend this as a short and simple 1,5-2h tech demo.

Great graphics, decent story and gameplay, perhaps fell slightly in quality the further I played into the game. Definitely filled the void for singleplayer Star Wars games.

The combat is somewhat unique, it has its quirks (both good and bad), and it definitely does divide people to those who either like it or hate it, but being free-to-play I can only recommend to try it.

The one game I'd truly want to experience in VR.

Simply put: this game is fun! Even if you're not winning all the time, which seems inevitable while you advance in the championships and get new cars + upgrade them to win more races.

The handling with a wheel+pedals+stick (G29) is absolutely fantastic, especially without any assists and with manual clutch. Perhaps not the most realistic, but so well done that the challenge is actually fun rather than frustrating (I'm looking at you Assetto Corsa and Project Cars).

11/10 would buy as a backer and wait for ~5 years again. Well, perhaps not, but thank god for them joining forces with THQ Nordic, because after that the development speed went through the roof compared to how it was. Ambition is great, but you need the resources to make your visions come true.

Got this game as a part of a bundle, so did not pay a premium, but this is what I have to say:
Do not buy this game, even on sale. It seems cool and I had high hopes, but from the very beginning it was clear that this game is too buggy to enjoy. In the end, it would not even load the last save and instead would just freeze. Did not get past the prologue (so no shooting yet) while trying to fix the shadow issues (on a GTX 980).

I cannot give this game a 10/10 due to the still existing performance issues it has on PC. But, the game is absolutely beautiful and the world is clearly made with passion. Very different when compared to the older AC games, but still an AC game.

I've played a few games that have had emotional effect, but this did it in a different way. Where it's usually happy or sad emotions, this truly affected with anxiety emotions. The world looks amazing, including Senua and her facial expressions. The story and voice acting were great. Truly an example that even when you have a small dev team and small budget, when the team is passionate about what they're doing, the results can be amazing. I watched most of their dev diary before playing and it clearly shows the drive they had during development.

Only thing I think could have had some more work done were the controls, especially during combat. Other than that, no cons really.
