Overall a pretty enjoyable game with a good amount of complexity and depth due to the customizability of mechs and the trait tree that accompanies all of them. This game does have what I'd call a steep learning curve though; You have to understand where you should place yourself in relation to your lance or team, when you should take hits for them, lead a push, spot/scout, when to fall back, and most importantly, always be aware of your surroundings(check your map). My advice to new players is to stick with it, and put a good amount of hours in to it; Try different mechs, each mech you play can have a very different play style to the previous, even within the same class. This is not the type of game where you will get the whole picture with only an hour or two of gameplay in a single mech.

(Edit:
The game did receive monthly patches regarding balance and bug fixes as well as the addition of more mechs and sometimes maps but as of late it the patches appear to have slowed down a bit.) The devs might not always get eveything right when they release a patch but they seem to pay attention as they have rolled back changes that may have not been the best for the health of the game.

The community for this game is great and I can honestly count on one hand that amount of times i've interacted with people who I would call toxic. Having friends you can party up with definitely adds to the replayability and fun of this game, though this point does apply to a lot of other games as well.
