Old school console-like FPS deathmatch for free. Can't really argue with that. Not my style of FPS but it's good casual fun with a group of friends.

Such a fun, steady game but does require investment once you reach level 40 where free to play increasingly becomes less and less viable. Syncs well with the mobile version and runs really well. Kabam did a great job of porting this to PC!

Early Access Review
Probably the best in its genre at this stage.

The most engaging puzzle game I've played on Steam. This is one of those games where it is highly recommended to not use a strategy guide and can proudly say I beat this game without one (with the exception of 2 or 3 puzzles that I was stumped with for days on end). Having the patience to take the time to assess a puzzle and allowing yourself to critically think about it (potentially resorting to pen and paper too) is a very important skill and I found that playing this game developed my patience and logic because of it.

Not only is Tekken 7 the best iteration in the franchise to date, it's also the best fighting game in the current generation of fighters (SFV, KoFXIV, GG:Xrd, MvC:I, MKX) and has the largest PC player base of them all (approximately 60% larger population than Street Fighter V).

If you're looking to sink your teeth into a fighting game, whether you're an absolute beginner to the genre or you're a seasoned veteran of a previous entry or a different franchise, this is the game to get right now.

Alternatively, hold out for the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ which has shown significant promise based on what we've seen so far.

My personal favourite game I played in 2016.

It's been a really long time since I have played a game where I have felt emotionally invested in the characters. The writing greatly portrays the persona of teenagers (specifically girls) and also reminded me of my days as a student and how I thought and acted back then.

The game features modern adventure game design (Telltale-like) that is very light on puzzles (nearly all of which are dialogue driven) and instead focused more on story and character development through its great use of dialogue trees and the game's main mechanic in which to explore them.

With the complexity of modern games (detailed 3D graphics, voice acting, etc.) it's difficult for games within this genre to make you feel that your actions have consequences (Telltale games are good examples) knowing that it would be impossible for the developers to create huge branches in story and dialogue compared to the text-based equivalents of yesteryear. However I think Life is Strange does the best it can in this regard, with some of the game's choices impacting whether or not entire scenes would appear several episodes down the line and the illusion of cause and effect feels strong enough for the player to feel that their choices make an impact on the direction of the story.

Whether or not you're a fan of the genre and whatever your gender may be, I think this game offers something that will charm those who enjoy story-driven single player experiences; one that will hopefully have an emotional impact and leave you with a lasting thought or two.

One final recommendation that I have is to not look online at any point for hints on where to find each photo for the achievements. These can all be collected upon completion of the game within an hour with ease and you should not let this impact your initial playthrough and experience of the storytelling. Trust me, you will get something spoiled by looking online even if you think otherwise, but be sure to check out the subreddit for this game after your playthrough as the game has a very passionate fanbase and many of the discussions there are worth a read and perhaps getting involved in.

Go ape!
