First of all, I hope they can keep the solo player experience strong, as that's how I like these styles of games the most, but I have a feeling they are going to lean more into the multiplayer experience, but for now the game is working well solo.

Now, why I felt like I needed to write a review. I have played every Pokemon game ever made to completion multiple times including most fan mods (still collect the cards too). I've tried a lot of Pokemon clones out there and none of them satisfy my taste for the genre much. Had my eyes on this for awhile, and I have to say, luckily this one does satisfy! Maybe because most of the "pals" are literal Pokemon ripoffs, which some would criticize, but I weirdly am okay with in this case. I think most Pokemon clones out there get the creature designs wrong which makes me not want to play them, so in this case, I feel like these are actual Pokemon since they just copy and pasted many Pokemon designs and then added a twist, which jives with my taste more. Maybe its just that Japan does this right so it took another Japanese developer to finally make something I liked.

But also maybe its because its not actually a Pokemon clone at all and more of a combination of so many addictive things all in one that makes this get it right. You take RPG elements of checking off quests/lists (dopamine hits) and upgrading your character and mix it with Pokemon, Breath of the Wild, Valheim (or your similar game of choice), and a third person shooter all combined. No wonder this has broken every steam sales record, and sold more copies in a shorter amount of time than almost anything ever released. It also has more concurrent players on a Thursday afternoon than almost every other game besides Fortnite (which I despise as a game lol) and hopefully can even come close to matching that this upcoming weekend when everyone jumps on. I'm hooked (at least for the time being. and that doesn't happen often)

Do not play. This is not much of a review because im not describing the game in any fashion, but please just dont play it. This is actually my first review ive ever felt inclined to write because of how worthless this small piece of expierance was.
