1- Stay off off the walls . They slow you down and also damage your vehicle.
2- Stop trying to hit every other player that is on the track with you. You simply aren't that skilled and making me laugh at your attempts at wrecking me almost made me wreck several times...
Your settings are 1 of your biggest problems. You need resets because you make a lot of mistakes. Full damage makes your car slower, and you wreck. A lot.
You really don't want me as a friend. I am an American , one of the very few that are still playing Grid 2. My level is light years ahead of yours.
That said, if you will take the advice I have given you, you will become much more skilled.
