Good game, don't read the black bars unless you played it and want to hear some of my opinions on it, don't spoil it for yourself.

I've read some of the other reviews, it feels wrong to call the narrator a narcissist, that word is thrown around a lot nowadays and seems to have lost some of it's meaning, but I guess I can understand it a little, he changed up the games, projected onto Coda, showed off Coda's work for validation, ultimately getting cut off by Coda for it, because it was a boundary that he broke.

not to mention how he broke it again by creating this game and attempting to reach out to him, another boundary he's violating, one that Coda established when cutting him off. (it's fiction btw)

but to tell you the truth I still feel like calling the narrator a narcissist isn't right, he changed the games up, he almost never let us experience these games how Coda made them (which he didn't want us to experience at all in the first place), often times skipped over parts, brushing them off simply because he himself couldn't find meaning in them, and added those poles etc.

but to me, despite craving outside validation, the narrator felt more like an emotionally immature individual who craved validation AND wanted to help Coda for what he perceived him to be going through, I don't believe that's narcissistic, he was displaying empathy.

despite that though, I still have my doubts, we only see things from his perspective and people with NPD have an absolutely screwed perception of themselves and the world around them. on the other hand, people can display narcissistic traits without having NPD.

in contrast, Coda's letter at the end was so grounded, so mature, and genuinely healthy, I can definitely relate to him and how it feels to have a friend who doesn't really understand you and isn't a good match for you at all.

the game isn't inspirational, I agree with other reviewers, but it definitely is a great story, I personally was so immersed at the end of the tower level's door puzzle, great idea, great voice acting, and amazing execution.

clunky controls, off dialogue, the story seems incoherent from the get go, and the art style of the game doesn't seem to know what it wants to be.
there's talent behind this game but the game itself isn't something I'd enjoy completing.

Absolutely amazing game, the story is amazing, the game-play is amazing, it sounds amazing, and it looks amazing.. but all of this is only if you get through the optimization issues among other things that plague it, I was lucky enough to only face a crashing on launch issue that I was able to fix by placing one of the following in the launch options: [-d3d11 -dx11 -dx12 -d3d12] or making the game exe launch with admin which unfortunately disables steam achievements.

despite the issue being bypass-able, having it in a game of this caliber is not acceptable at all.

will change to positive when i can launch the game without having to do 3 back flips through a flaming hula hoop.

do not be deceived by the cute color palette, this game is not adorable in the slightest.

it's basically a mobile phone bf4 knock off; honestly surprising how wrong they got it, very disappointed..

very boring and tedious, I forced myself through most of it but i accidentally deleted my save game so yeah no ♥♥♥♥ that

really good puzzles, well-written story with stunning art style and graphics.

short 3 hour detective/ walking simulator with beautiful graphics and pretty straightforward puzzles.

Finishing this game was inspiring and satisfying.
if you got the cash and are interested in the game just go for it, you won't regret it.
