A few gripes: ending could have been better (could have also been much worse); wanted to see Crona come into his own a little more and quit being an indecisive mess. Would have liked to see a few more hardcore fight scenes with him, especially when it came to fighting Medusa. Oh well.
I always have complaints, but all in all it is now one of my favorites.
Are they in negotiations with major companies to start porting games to Linux en masse OR is it a Valve OS with a Linux kernel and companies will have to program specifically for it (like an actual console)? Both have some drawbacks compared to the other and both also require broad developer support.
Ideally, they would probably want the whole Steam library available to users from Day 1, but that won't happen either without more Linux titles available or planning on installing Windows immediately after buying the system. A Windows install is simple enough, but not what casual gamers expect from a turn-key solution. Its also a significant extra cost.
Obviously they probably have a gameplan that they are settled on and are confident in at this point, but I would like to hear some details.
The downfall of multiplayer is...well, other people. That is why I try to play multiplayer games with people I know. Roll the dice in a matchmaking lobby and often you'll find the queue full of scumbags, so I try to mitigate that as much as possible.
I also prefer cooperative multiplayer to competitive online play anyday. Playing with people I know (and like) is highly preferable to playing against semi-anonymous, ill-tempered, loud mouths and/or snotty little children in some sort of death match scenario.
I just read about that Square Enix copyright today. Doesn't sound like a movie title (a movie is planned apparently) so hopefully they will be announcing a sequel shortly.
Steam is a far more elegant solution to online community and digital distribution than anything the 'Big Three' have come up with.
