700+ hours later -- I think that I can safely say that I recommend this game.

As someone who is drawn to games with powerful story-driven narratives and compelling characters that grow and develop as you the player make choices within the game, BG3 is everything that I could have hoped for.

Joining in and doing my part to offset the review bombing.

As someone with over 1000 hours of gameplay time under her belt, this is my honest review of the newest update:

1. The balancing of certain frames has been a long time coming. There are a number of warframes that could enter into a mission and press a single button to watch every enemy on the map fall down dead. I'm fairly certain this is not the game that the devs intended for us to play. We knew months ago that they intended to rework the worst offenders, to break up the meta and balance it between as many warframes as possible. Many of the downvotes are people who played these meta frames, upset that they can no longer press a single button to win.

2. The nerfs to AoE weapons/changes to ammo still needs some work. While I understand the need to try and balance out the admittedly over-powered nature of some AoE weapons, I believe the current update went a little too far in the opposite direction. On missions where there are swarms of enemies, AoE weapons now feel almost useless, as you only get a few shots before your ammo is gone and the drop rate on the new ammo seems very low. I don't think it's a bad system, per se, but it does need a little more adjusting to feel appropriately balanced. (This is coming from someone who uses a Kuva Zarr on almost every warframe.)

Overall, I still highly recommend the game. The dev team is open about upcoming changes and does listen to the community about concerns. It's an incredibly fun game - even better with friends! - and it's completely free to play. And now, with 50 available warframes, there's a frame to suit every playstyle. Try it out for yourself!

An amazing game that allows players to pass kindness out to those who need it and to receive it when they are the ones in need. Truly uplifting.
