5/5 game by Arrowhead, but alas, Sony decided to interfere.
Great that it was decided to reverse the PSN requirement for PC, but it appears the game still isn't available in some countries that it initially was available for purchase upon release. Terribly managed. This review will be positive once the game can be bought everywhere again.

As for the game itself: great fun, huge variety of experiences due to procedural level generation and unpredictable change of pace within missions. The immersion and atmosphere are both top of the line, the explosions, sound effects and weighted movement and weapon handling looks and feels good. Mission variety could be a bit more diverse, but it's pretty good. Frequent content updates are good.

Main issue I'd say is equipment throttling, they should have given players a bit more to choose from at the start rather than provide only an AR and a pistol while locking precision rifles, shotguns, energy weapons etc behind a potentially lengthy grind. And some inconsistent connection/server issues. I still see some random friend disconnects and delay in friend requests.

This has to be one of the best in its class. The game is brilliant with its simplicity, yet surprising depth. You choose one of a number of misfit mutants, each with distinct attributes and wildly different play styles, unlocking more as you play and go shoot various baddies in a post apocalyptic setting. The difficulty is rather high, the mistakes unforgiving, and it only scales up. The pixel graphics and color tones are masterfully crafted, there is a fairly broad arsenal of weapons available, and some secrets. There is no shortage of pixel graphics roguelikes and lites these days, but I find this one much more appealing than the rest, what with its straightforward attitude, which is perfect for a free moment - just jump right in. And game over. And try again.

surprisingly fun. best with friends. plenty of annoying goblins, trolls, meat chunks and, of course, moose. and has replay value.
