If you like walking sim horror by Emika or n4ba, like September 7th or 9th Childs Street, this one will be right up your alley. If, however, you’re bored to death by classic walking sim horror where you have to chain together one interaction after another to make progress, you should probably skip this one.

It very much follows the formula of turning on the light in room X, unlocking progress in room Y, and then running around until you finally find the one interactable item that lets you continue. I don’t play these kinds of games very often anymore because they can feel a little lazy. But every now and then I’m in the mood for a game like that, and when I am, I have a blast.

The atmosphere is almost always amazing, and this one is no exception. It’s a fun little Christmas horror, and I especially enjoyed the small framing story of the grandpa and his grandchild.

The only other game by this dev that I’ve played was Holidays in Khrushchevsk, and both games share the same problem. They have so much potential but don’t quite live up to it. Express No. 6 has a very cool setting and a fun premise: toys meant to be Christmas presents come to life on a train and turn protagonist Maxim’s countdown to New Year’s into a living nightmare. So far, so fun.

The execution needed some more cooking, I think. It’s missing polish overall. The biggest problem is the jumpscares, which become repetitive fairly quickly and feel a little lazy. A loud noise playing and a face appearing in front of you isn’t enough. The timing needs to be right, and the execution needs to be more creative.

However, I can’t give this game a bad rating, because it oozes love and passion. You can tell the dev loved creating this. I really appreciate that they used content creators as voice actors instead of AI voices, very refreshing for a small indie horror dev in current times. The key art is most definitely still AI, though, and could really be redone by a real person. Maybe the dev could pay a real artist once the game has made a bit of money.

Silent Hill f is the first Silent Hill game I’ve ever completed, so you definitely can’t call me an OG fan. But that put me in a unique position: I got to experience this game on its own terms, without nostalgia or franchise expectations shaping my opinion.

I really enjoyed the story. I love that you need to play through more than once to fully understand what’s going on (or at least *ry to understand what’s going on). Even with the cultural differences and the time period, I still found a lot I could relate to.

Combat was… fine. Never terrible, but never fun either. Sometimes it got boring because of repetition, and other times it just got frustrating because the camera fought me harder than the enemies did. The puzzles weren’t very creative, and a few felt pretty poorly designed (corn field).

But the sound design, voice acting, visuals, and overall storytelling absolutely carried the experience for me. They kept me invested enough to play it twice. After that, I looked up a YouTube summary for the rest.

Final verdict: Worth playing, just maybe wait for a sale!

This game literally broke my heart! How dare you! I liked the first game (not so much the DLC), but this one is on another level. It’s scarier, more heartbreaking, and more stressful! As if I hadn’t built enough trust issues on my own. I love the nightmare world-building!

Some of the controls are a little clunky, but all in all it was a game I enjoyed through and through!

There are very few PvP games I actually enjoy. Extraction shooters are not usually my thing at all. The only reason I even touched this one was because there was a free server slam weekend and my partner, who had been in the alpha, was absolutly smitten with the game. So I gave it a try. It was just a weekend...

Well… after that weekend I pre-ordered the deluxe version and now have 90 hours in the game. A little bit more than a weekend.

For a long time, I played rat mode: sneaking, looting, avoiding fights. I only fought when there was no way around it. My partner literally made me a certificate for successfully ratting through every quest up until the recent update. I am now officially an award-winning rat. 🐀✨

I am now studying in Honey Badger Class. Which means no fights will be avoided. xD

Today was my first time playing solo and it’s a completely different experience. But just as addictive.

At this point, I think this game is going to be my companion for a very long time. I didn’t expect to love it, but here I am, feral and thriving.

This felt really retro without being outdated. It reminded me a lot of the games I used to play as a teenager. It definitely needs some polishing, but if you grew up playing survival shooters, this is one to keep an eye on as it develops.

Hot tip: Don’t skip the descriptions! This game implements some uncommon revolver mechanics, and they’re actually pretty cool.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the Silent Hill–esque creature design.
If you like retro survival horror games without tank controls, this one’s for you! I love the simple visual style and bonus points for the rats running through the halls. 😄

I played this demo twice because I was sure I must have missed something. But no, there’s literally nothing here. 😅 There’s not even enough to get a sense of the atmosphere. Honestly, I almost feel that having no demo at all would’ve been better than this one, because this five-minute graphics pitch didn’t convince me to add the game to my wishlist. The screenshots shown on the store page are actually more intriguing than the demo itself.

Go into this expecting more of an interactive movie than a traditional game. There’s no real gameplay beyond choosing between option A or B, but I was looking for. a story-driven horror experience for my streams, something immersive for both me and my community, and it delivered. We locked in, man!

The streamer mode with paused answers was fantastic, it gave us time to make decisions together, and honestly I would’ve used it even without an audience. I don’t care much for the “make decisions fast” mechanic, realistic or not.

I’m definitely coming back to unlock the other three endings.

I almost don’t want to say it out loud, but this game is already 8 years old. Time flies! It still holds up effortlessly! The game strikes a perfect balance between being adorable at times, but also drenched in a creepy atmosphere and it even managed to shock me once or twice.

It kept me hooked for the entire runtime, and when I had to stop, I felt a strong urge to jump back in. I still have the DLCs waiting for me, but I’m smitten with the main game. Can’t wait to play the second game!
