Better than 1 in just about every way. So many mechanics to play around with and tinker with, it can be quite overwhelming at first, but learning it is fun. Great combat, (mostly) fun bosses and so much loot.

Incredible game. Build variety, gameplay, SFX and music are all great. If you enjoy theory crafting and coming up with builds, testing interaction between talents and highscore chasing this is a must play.

An incredible co-op experience, that also works well with randoms using the ping system and ingame voice chat. Balance changes and new enemies keep the experience fresh and the core gameplay loop is very enjoyable.

Absolutely phenomenal. Gorgeous stages, incredible combat and great boss fights. There is so much to do if you're someone who enjoys mastering a combat system and improving for the sake of improving. Can't recommend it enough.

Use elemental weapons for Alatreon

Pretty frogging good. Surprisingly satisfying hit stop and feedback on attacks and a good variety of weapons. And frogs.

Release:
One of the best roguelike experiences out there. Great even as a solo player, but it really shines with a couple of friends. Combat is king and there is always interesting decisionmaking and strategizing to be done for clearing the map and optimizing your build. Can't recommend it enough.

Early Access:
A lot of the negative reviews are about a lack of content - it says on the page what is currently available and this is early access.

If you're looking for a lot of content then, currently, this is not it. The core gameplay is very good though, so if you want to get in early and get a discount I'd recommend doing so.

If you enjoy MH, you should definitely give WH a try. The karakuri building, map traversal, unique weapon playstyles, weapon crafting and kemono designs all come together to form a refreshing take on the genre.

I also found the characters much more interesting and likeable than other games like this. The cutscenes, art and scenery are often gorgeous as well.

It does have quite a lot of performance issues though, so if that's something that bothers you, you might want to hold out a bit.

Great game. The gunplay might be hit or miss for some people, but it'll grow on you. The world is interesting, the music is great and with mod collections on Nexus it's a lot easier to get a stable game running than it has been in the past.
