+Insanely satisfying controls, moving around feels seamless and fun. Nails the balance of "easy to pick up, hard to master" gameplay. I seriously spent an hour just moving around in the hub worlds because the movement itself is so good
+Fully remappable controls with settings for adjusting deadzones and stick sensitivity, allowing pretty much any controller to be used
+Unique and interesting aesthetic and bangin electronic music
+Short and sweet, gets right to the point with no unnecessary cutscenes or dialogue
+Multiplayer modes
+Level editor with the ability to share creations
+Optional "nightmare" versions of each level for those who want an extra challenge

-Huge difficulty spike at the very end of the game
-Could've used an optional tutorial for newer players who don't come from a platform fighter background (although the level design does teach you indirectly)
-The water music gets repetitive
-The fire mechanic felt imprecise compared to the rest of the game

9/10 strongly recommended to anyone who enjoys platform fighters with an emphasis on movement techniques (Melee/P+/RoA/RR), speedrunners, or fans of games like Celeste and Dustforce

Indie metroidvania with an emphasis on combat and movement abilities.
What I liked:
-The boss battles were challenging but fair, requiring you to engage with the different mechanics such as dashing, blocking, charged attacks, spells, healing etc.
-Moving around once you get a few abilities is satisfying, almost feels like parkour running through the levels doing dashes, dives, flying and running across walls
-Good variety of mechanics that makes each level feel unique
-Nice art, the game looks pretty and the setting is interesting
-Lots of secrets to find with good rewards for those who take the time
-You can customize which upgrades you give your character based on your playstyle
-Some of the music was good

What I hope they work on in a potential sequel:
-The story didn't captivate me, the protagonist feels one dimensional and there isn't much to take away from it
-Although there are a good amount of enemy archetypes that test different skills, they lack visual variety and feel repetitive by the end of the game
-Some of the music was forgettable

Overall pretty good and I'm interested in seeing what the Hello Penguin Team does next

Ridiculous amount of content for cheap. Controls feel great which is the most important thing. Great if you like speedrunning small stages. Feels satisfying to constantly be unlocking something new and going up the leaderboards.

Imagine if SSBM had more viable characters, more stages, all the same interesting tech but easier, a developer who actually supports the competitive scene, custom stages and characters, no Ice Climbers, customizable controls (including stick sensitivity and deadzones), didn't require a CRT, and had a ranked matchmaking system
