10 out of 10. There can be no question that this is one of the greatest side-scrollers of all time. It's just impeccable; with a wide variety of weapons, enemies, levels (biomes), outfits, and so much more the game feels full and manages to stay fresh. The true characteristics however that make dead cells so deserving of platinum status are it's game play and that it's a challenging experience that requires skill. You must be nimble as well as strategic once you start getting into the higher stages of difficulty, but Dead cells rewards the brave and daring who manage to conquer. Should you feel the need to hone this skills, dead cells offers a daily challenge, and has oodles of items and skills to unlock that will require a number of runs to obtain. The game features itself features a training area, and a daily challenge as well. The replay value of dead cells is quite simply unparalleled for a game of this genre.

Moving on. the art direction is supreme. If you love pixels and colorful sprites, hack and slash no further friend, because Dead Cells is for you. The level design is equally as refined. These levels, referred to as biomes are rearranged every time you start a new game, but they maintain brilliantly designed aesthetics. The game also has a deep lore, which only gets deeper each time the developer updates the game. Which brings me to my next point.

The devs are on top of this game, as of this review they are on their 29th patch/update of the game. They just keep going... the game has been out now for years and new DLC just keeps coming out. New items, skills, outfits, enemies, bosses, etc. just keep popping up. Their dedication is admirable to say the least and it certainly shows. They have managed to solidify Dead Cells status as one of the best hack and slash side scrollers of all time. Factor in the fact that the game is affordable, available on every platform, and heavily discounted several times a year they deserve a high five at the very least.

DISAPPOINTING. Finally I thought, I can play third strike on PC against others online. Oh no, not really. Honestly someone should slap the sh*t out of Capcom for this port. I mean it's absolutely terrible. It's full of glitches, phantom inputs, lag, oh and you didn't think that you'd be able to use your joystick without having to fuss around for several hours did you? Oh I see, well silly you. The user interface is absolute garbage...

Capcom seems intent on destroying Street Fighter in totality. Shame on them, because that's what this is... a shameful money grab.

Just barely over the fence on a game that could have been so much more.

Cons
-------

6/10, hack and slash plat-former that could have been more, but feels like the developers got lazy somewhere along the way. Many of the items (relics) do not function as described and many of the attributes described for both relics and Arcana have a catch 22 depending on what type of enemy you're fighting. Another annoying caveot is that Relics that are dropped by enemies and left on the map do not come with a description. This is no problem if you are picking up a normal relic, but if it's cursed and can cost you your playtime and the game as it can severely weaken you. Would have been simple to add a description. Many of the bosses also seem extremely cheap, and to a regular gamer it will seem at times like the game is more rooted in luck than skill.

Finally it seems the better you play the harder the game becomes, setting you up to get right to the end and then get owned.

Pros
------

- Art Direction is sweet.
- Very addictive game play (even if at times it might make you want to rage).
- Many relics and spells keep things fresh and allow you to create a style of fighting all your own.
- Overall a very fun game, but a game of this type shouldn't be such a time investment just because of a few poorly written algorithms.

Alan Wake is a model for story driven immersive gameplay. Everything about this game is great, the setting, the gameplay, the characters... everything.

Ever make a purchase on steam and wish you could undo it? That's most definitely the case here.

First let me state that I am running 3GB of video memory on a Geforce 770GTX. I can max out most games without experiencing any sort of lag at all, not the case with Pure Pool.

This game literally has no pro's because it is not playable. It didn't detect my card at all (similar problem with pool nation) instead it defaults to the motherboards on-board Intel graphics chip which is fine for everything except running games.

You can't change the options, nor could I locate an easy way to access the options (of which there are few).

The game will force you to watch a ridiculous intro after a nauseating load time at the beginning. It loads you right into free play which I’m sure is one of the reasons the load time is horrid. I also experienced lag when trying to control the cue stick, very similar to input lag with HD televisions when you try to play certain PC games on them. This makes it almost impossible to line up your cue real time. I should also state that aside from my video card memory I am running 16 gigs of ddr3 ram (maxed out).

I don't know why a developer would put out a game, boasting about it's graphics when you can't even utilize the hardware you need to for those graphics to not hinder the game-play. I might have gotten this game on sale but I still want my money back because this is absolute trash. At the very least I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this poorly made money grab.

Such a shame too since I was hoping I finally had found a decent pool game for the PC.

Save your money and AVOID this trainwreck.
