First discovered Amanita Design when I played Samorost 1, leading me to buy all the games that were published by them since they were all at a steep discount. I got the idea that I should play them in order of release date, so after beating samorost 2 I figured Machinarium was next.

First off, the game is beautifully designed and the art style feels unique as a selling point for this game. I was able to do the first 2 puzzles by myself, but I straight up didn't know what I was doing after that. Fortunately this game has a in-built walkthrough, but you have to play a extremely easy mini-game that takes way too long to beat and it got tedious quickly. Granted I probably didn't give this game enough of a shot because I went into this expecting a comfy 5 hour experience so I can clear it off the backlog. I guess I don't have enough patience for this type of game. Leaving a positive review anyways cause I don't think any issues I had are the fault of the game itself.

Probably would give this a mixed review.

The environments themselves are beautiful to walk through, but after a few worlds you notice that a lot of world either repeat or are variations of other worlds. Exploring was fun at first, but eventually I found myself trying to find the quickest way to the next world since it was getting repetitive. HowLongToBeat.com states this game takes about 1½ hours to beat, but in reality there is no real end to this game.

The game does its' job as a LSD type simulator, but I found it to get old pretty quick.

Just finished Samrost 1, so figured I'd play the sequel since it's also not that long. However, since this game is about 4 times the length of the previous one, there are more levels included. The puzzles themselves were also a bit more challenging, as I admit I had to look up a walkthrough closer to the end.

Overall, I like the art style of this game, just like the previous. Looking forward to the third one eventually!

Randomly saw Samrost 3 on sale and it looked interesting. Got it and the 2 games before it cause why not.

The first game (this one) is free and is only about 15 mins to beat, but the presentation is charming in a way and found the "puzzles" not to be that difficult. Look forward to giving the other games a shot now since they are all not that long.

Probably the most fun "Bennett Foddy" type game I've ever played! Controls don't take long to get used to but still gets harder the further in you get. For some reason most people looked at "Getting over it" and decided the best part about it was the horrible controls. This game shows that it's possible to make a similar style game while keeping the game play fun!

For the longest time, I always considered myself a fan of Atlus games despite having never played one. I always knew I was going to enjoy them, but because I was always daunted by how long it took to beat most of these games, I was constantly pushing back on playing any of them. When Metaphor was released, I figured I would have no more excuses and finally start this before I forget about it and this game gets pushed back into the backlog like so many others...

At first, I wasn't sure what to think about this game. At the beginning, the story felt kinda tropey despite not leaning in on any tropes. But then I found myself impressed by all the gameplay mechanics that made me fully interact with it, both the old Atlus mechanics and the new ones included that I think I might have a bit of trouble with once I go play the older games. I think it's a good thing that I don't have much else to say about it since I had a good experience with this game and don't have any major complaints! Maybe one day I might finally start Persona 5 lol.

Pre-ordered this game cause of how much I was looking forward to it. For some reason I never got far into the original Sonic Generations, so playing this would give me a good excuse to return to the unfinished game I had as well as enjoying a new shadow campaign.

Sonic Generations itself feels very similar to the original in terms of gameplay, but the dialogue is much better written and characters actually remember their past adventures rather than not knowing anything at all like the original.

Shadow Generations feels like Sonic Generations on steroids. Each level has way more insane spectacles from beginning to end. Each level also makes good use of new powerups that blend into the gameplay. It's also nice that the hub is a 3d space rather than a 2d one. This helps give the game some optinal completion bonuses which i didn't feel the need to pursue.

Overall I'm glad Sonic has been doing better over the past few years. Here's to hoping we get more bangers from the sonic studio!

About a year ago I cleared GRIS from my backlog and enjoyed it for what it was. When Neva was announced, I was exited to hear it was from same developers from GRIS.

Regarding the game itself, like the game before, it has amazing visual effects, music, and wonderful storytelling without any need for dialogue. It doesn't take very long to become attached to the wolf and the game does a good job making tense moments because of it. The game is rather short but it takes a lot of effort to make the wonderful art style it has so that alone it worth it. Game takes supposedly 4 hours but I was constantly dodge rolling and dashing. somehow that is faster than running lol. Definitely worth playing!

Finally finished the whole trilogy, and I wrote a short review for each game at the time I beat each respective game. Figured I'd compile all these reviews here in one place:

Ace Attorney:
Finally was able to try the first entry of the Ace Attorney series! I understand that this was the first entry, so this was the game that needed to establish the characters. Regardless, the story is expertly written and cases are more complex and climactic with every following episiode! I had to use a guide cause I just wanted to enjoy the story cause I wanted to treat this like any other visual novel, but even so I have no idea how I could have figured out the solutions on my own. There's plenty of times where the game asks Wright to make statements based on no evidence yet and sometimes presenting evidence is not entirely straight-forward to the answers derived from showing the evidence. Overall I still had a good time and look forward to playing the sequel whenever I get the chance.

Ace Attorney - Justice For All:
Started this one just after playing the first game. I can see why this was the least favourite among the trilogy. Not to say that it was bad, but the cases were not as interesting as the ones in the previous game (except for the final case). I liked the new mechanics introduced during investigations to make it more interesting, like the psyche-locks in particular! Again like last time, I used a guide cause I have no idea how I was going to be able to solve these on my own, and that I wanted to enjoy this game like any other usual visual novel. Overall I had a good time, especially when I was able to play the final case!

Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations:
I can totally see why this entry is seen as the best one of the initial pheonix wright trilogy. While the first 4 cases are good in their own right, the final fifth case represents not only the final case of the third entry, but concludes plot points that have been featured thoughout the whole trilogy! It really feels like the whole point of this entire trilogy was just for this single, amazing case!

In "anticipation?" of playing forbidden west one day on my ps5, I had to get though this one first since it was also in the backlog. Open world games are not normally my thing, so I mostly just did the main quests. I was able to enjoy the game regardless.

Combat is thrilling as it's fun to shoot machines while dodging, and the world is interesting enough to travel through with it's unique setting (for an open world game). The story is gripping and was the main motivation to get through the rest of the game. Ironically, I also kind of agree with some criticism I've seen online about this game, where the real part if this story is more to do with what happened in the past, rather than current events. Ancient caves themselves feel empty, but i guess the whole point of those are to get more answers for what happened in the past.

Overall I'm glad I finally got to experience this game!
