I'm going to give a 100% honest opinion after finishing my first run through so buckle up buttercups and let's go!

I had this game on my wishlist since I saw the trailer on Twitter last year. I was DAMN determined to purchase this game the day it launched, but when all the negative reviews started rolling in I got scared. A hot bit later and a slew of patches/bug fixes/updates later I decided "what the hell" and delved into it.

A BIG sticking point for most people is that it doesn't look like the trailer, and it doesn't. Games are never going to look as good as the cinematic trailers. If that's what you're here for, you're going to be disappointed. That being said, it does still look nice. The animal models are good/adorable and the moments where the mutants pop up are genuinely terrifying at first. After they stop being terrifying you start to just appreciate how amazingly grotesque the mutants are.

Another point is the game play repetitiveness. Yes, it does get repetitive from enclosure to enclosure. You're basically running the same tests on every animal, curing the infected, fighting the mutants and carrying on to the next one. I kinda like that about the game, though. I get to spend time with the animals, work on my eyeball measurement skills, really act like a good zookeeper giving every one of her precious darlings the care they need...until one turns into a grotesque monster and tries to kill and eat every other living thing in it's path.

Also I get to pet the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ animals. I literally got an achievement for "can I pet dat dawg?" because ABSOLUTELY I'm petting all them ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Is it a game you're going to spend days upon days upon days playing? No. I knocked out the first run in 3 hours on stream. I'll probably spend another 3 to see the enclosures NG+ adds in, maybe a couple more trying to see what other endings there are (there are multiple) and then I'll probably put it to bed.

So I guess at the end of the day you just have to ask yourself the question "Is 6+ hours of my time worth $24.99?" and "Is that gameplay loop something I think is worth $24.99?" For me, personally, it was. I'm happy I got it and would recommend. Stream had fun watching me play it, they're excited to see me explore the other enclosures next week. Well worth it for me.

Hope I'm able to help y'all make an informed decision one way or another! Happy gaming!

I saw this game when a couple of my favorite youtubers made a video on it, back when it first came out. So, I decided to give it a shot. I was going through a particularly rough time,

A friend of mine ended up starting up a Valheim server and it quickly became an obsession of mine. I threw a lot of my free time/energy into it. It caused me to spend a lot of time with someone I had met a few months prior, but hadn't really spoke to much/gotten to know. And by a lot of time I mean a LOT of time. He and I were in call, playing together and building a base together for hours every day.

I still love the game, but find myself going long periods of time without playing it due to life getting in the way and other fleeting game interests that catch my attention. However, this game will always hold a very special place in my heart and I will always love and cherish it dearly as it was through this game that I got to know the love of my life.

I received this game from the devs to stream and promote a bit before it came out. I gave it a play though and was surprised if I'm honest. I was expecting this game to be something that I didn't get into much. I'm not a big puzzle game person and, if I'm honest, it looks fairly simple and forgettable at first glance.

I loved this little game. The snek is so stinking cute and I got more into it than I expected to. At one point I ended up getting stuck somewhere and was invested enough to keep at it and keep trying until I got so frustrated that I rage quit. I don't usually have that kind of dedication/investment in puzzle games like that.

If you are a snek fan and a puzzle game fan I think you'll love this cute little game.

Disclaimer: DO NOT STREAM THIS GAME- or at least stream at your own risk. Put 4 hours of a stream into this game. I was enjoying it a lot, the viewers really got into it. Unfortunately, there's a racial slur in this game that made me scared to continue on/scared of what might happen to my channel because it was said out loud by the character's voice actor.

Other than that, I really loved what I saw of the game. There was a lot of work and passion that went into this. The art is amazing and the slight animated movements of the characters as they talked was a refreshing touch to someone who is used to static drawn characters in these Visual Novels. The horror scenes got me pretty good and there was a great sense of story telling. The tense scenes were relieved with humor and the calm scenes went on just long enough so that when it was interrupted with more horror scenes it was jarring and caught you off guard after lulling you into a false sense of security.

Just please, for the love of all things good and holy, add a "streamer safe" option to this game. Or at least a warning for streamers. The normal "violence and language" warning isn't quite enough to convey to a streamer that there are certain words in this game that could get them banned and it comes out of left field.

I had to think pretty hard about what kind of review to give for this game. Or, at least, if I wanted to recommend it or not. In the end, I've decided it's more than worth it for a free Visual Novel experience.

The artwork is beautiful. There was so much care and love put into the art and visuals of this game. The faces are expressive, the scenes are breathtaking when they want to be and terrifying when they need to be.

The characters are well written and well rounded. There was so much depth to even the portrayed "villain" of the game that it made it hard to decide who to root for. Not to mention that playing as the "mother" figure was an interesting experience. You weren't an unnamed god or consciousness that wordlessly dictated the world and what choices were made. You are literally the consciousness that speaks inside the main character's mind and manipulate her based on how ruthless or benevolent you want to be.

The idea was fun, dark and unique.

However, there was a serious flaw with the story telling that irked me quite a bit. There are a lot of abrupt timeline jumps that happen way too often in this game. It skips forward a lot of time in the beginning of the game, only to backtrack a significant amount at random intervals and then jump back to the present time. It was jarring and off putting to the point where I seriously considered not recommending this game. It's a shame, really. I'm sure there are other people that can appreciate the setup of the story and how it's told, but I found it bothersome. It threw me off the immersion quite a few times as I was left confused as to the sudden time shift and where exactly the events took place. I can forgive one or two instances of this type of thing, but it happened much too often for my taste.

In conclusion I recommend the game. It was an overall pleasant experience. Just be warned that there are some shenanigans afoot to look out for.

I loved this game. The art style is amazing. I was blown away when I first opened it up. The story was great and I loved the underlaying message of magic and spirituality. How it can be misued and how it can be used for good.
