Oh man, this game was, and is, really, really cool. The problem, though, is that it hasn't been updated in years. No content, no communication from the developer. Nothing.

Back in 2014, when this was released, Roguelikes (or, roguelike-likes, whatever you wanna call em) were really picking up steam. They're still incredibly popular, but at the time, the "FPS but roguelike" game hadn't really been explored all that much by developers.

Enter "Rogue Shooter"! I first heard about this game through an article on Rock Paper Shotgun, and as a person who is really into classic 90s shooters, I really wanted to pick it up. I loved the style -- the bizarre, cartoon-ish "2.5D" graphics really made the game stand out, and the combat looked pretty solid. Not to mention that at the time, there was no way my computer was going to be able to play something like Ziggurat. My options were pretty limited.

The developer even updated it a few times, adding some new stuff! It looked like the game was going to be supported and developed for a while, so it looked to me like something I really wanted to be a part of. So I bought it.

Sadly -- like I said before -- the last update for this game was back in 2014. I don't think anything new will ever be added any time soon, so if you're planning on purchasing it, just keep that in mind. It's an enjoyable game for the price -- It's just really sad that this game never went anywhere.

Really interesting shooter with roguelike elements, that just kinda got left behind.
