easily the best djmax respect expansion in years, if not ever. thoroughly enjoyed nearly every track, djmax is back in form

excellent game, but this game's main issue is twofold, 1. it's too easy, stemming from 2 the fact that this is a power fantasy game. i get the feeling that this game wishes it wasn't a power fantasy, but couldn't find another emotion with this gameplay formula. this isn't really a game where you're fighting against your fear, you're not scared, you can't be, you have a health bar and you need to keep your combo going, it is exhilarating.

this game is more than everything i hoped it would be AAA+
i was initially a bit quick to judge many of the levels as gimmicky but i was wrong, some of the weirder stuff is incredibly compelling and well designed.
never thought i'd say "this 360hz monitor doesn't look smooth enough" but here we are LOL

this is without hyperbole the best first person shooter i have ever played
it gets everything right and it gets everything right in ways that nothing has before.
the controls and visuals and audio and mechanics are all groundbreaking, phenomenal and work in perfect concert, it's a work of art and an incredible achievement.
if devil daggers was the geometry wars of FPS then HYPER DEMON is the HYPER DEMON of video games. ball's in everyone else's court, if they dare.

update: after another 20 hours this game is honestly just now finally starting to click. everything's starting to come together. it's... indescribable. my third eye is opening. i'm starting to see the matrix. i cannot begin to explain how good this game is.

the voice of cards games are all totally standalone, so there's no problem with skipping the first two and playing this one. play this one.

this game rules, extremely well crafted puzzle game, it does what it sets out to do better than anybody could have imagined. i do wish the psychedelic emotional vibes of the ending cinematic were a bit more present during gameplay

I have always dreamed of a game very specifically like this one, for well over a decade, knowing that it's just not realistically going to happen. well, somebody went and did it, and they did it *extremely well*. it's so good. you get to live and breathe an unfathomably beautiful psychedelic geometric nightmare. heads up the story goes hard, it is not fun and happy, it is rough, you're in for a very rough time and I hope you love it.

max out the FOV, minimize the mouse sensitivity, lower graphics settings until your frame rate is as high as your monitor's refresh rate, set the difficulty to nightmare, rip and tear.
