This is easily the game of the year for me. Past two years, honestly. I've spent countless hours alternating between tyrant and pipsqueek upstart trying to avoid being squashed. Don't buy the Aztec DLC, but I can recommend the rest of the add-ons without reservation.

Edit from 2017: I STILL play this game five years later. That's saying something.

I know a lot of people don't like the way Paradox does their DLC, and it's true that the DLC has started getting priced higher and I'm not too fond of that myself. On the other hand, the DLC is why I'm still playing five years later. There's no question that it's unreasonable to ask the prices that Paradox is asking on DLC lately, but there's also no question just how much staying power this game has had.
