game was great minus sleeping table boss

it was aight. the constant walk and talk segments and the transition animations to each area and the already aged graphics was a let down. combat is ok, it's a bit simplistic and easy. the new story they're telling is slightly remixed from the original ff7 and feels weird, we'll see how it plays out over the next decade as square enix milks this series to death.

it loves you enough to make you suffer at times

It's pretty good. Does a lot of things good enough, but not well. Tries to be Prince of Persia, Zelda, and ARPG akin to Diablo. Succeeds in some of those aspects, fails in others.

The menu/UI/UX design is especially terrible, which you will use a lot to fast travel and equip gear.

Played and loved the original years ago. Still holds up very well but has that jank stank from that late PS3 era.

At some point I was just ready for it to be over. You might enjoy it more. It's not bad, I just don't think it was for me.

At least it didn't cost money.

So jank that it ends up being a comedy game rather than horror.

It's a worse version of Oblivion, which was a worse version of Morrowind.

I've never understood the constant decade old hype around this mediocre game.
