(Word of warning, I'm gonna use some Smash terms)
As someone who is a semi competitive Melee and PM player, this game really clicks with me. If you play Melee and PM at a high level, you can probably pick up a character in an hour or two. If you're a competitive Melee or PM player, you can probably pick up a character in an hour or two.


This game is ACCESSIBLE
The gameplay is fast and smooth, and incredibly user friendly. The learning curve is lessened from Smash due to the lack L-Cancelling, replacing it with low landing lag, making combos smooth and easier to perform. There aren't edges to the stages, making edge-guarding less read based, but, the wall jumping and air dodging lets you mix up your recoveries just enough to keep opponents guessing, but not to the point where you could do 3-4 different things recovering. Also, you can attack and move out of an air-dodge, which makes a missed wavedash off the stage less punishing. There aren't any shields in Rivals. Instead, you have parrying, which keeps defensive play to a minimum.

I haven't even talked about the characters yet.

Wow.

Every character is completely unique, with really well executed ideas. Zetterburn can set opponents on fire, and if he connects a strong attack (the non copywritten name for smash attacks) while the opponent is still on fire, the attack does quite a good deal more knockback and damage (Try aerial side-b into F-smash ;) ). Wrastor is the godlike combination of Falco, Marth, and Jigglypuff. He utilizes a wind current that, if he is inside it, raises his speed and his already insane aerial speed. He also has 4 jumps, so, uh.

Anyways, Forsburn can create a clone of himself (ICs anyone?) and can create smoke, store it, and use it to create an explosion around him. He can also Ken combo. Orcane uses a puddle that he creates somewhere on the map. He can teleport to it, make it evaporate into bubble has a trap, and enhance some moves of his. Maypul is an extremely small and fast character that can mark opponents with certain special moves. If she uses a strong attack while the person is marked, they are stunned for a small amount of time, which is a really simple kill setup. If the opponent is marked and she up-Bs, she will pull herself toward the opponent, and control her direction, which is great for mixups. Kragg hits quite hard, but is a good deal slower that the rest of the cast. He can create a big stone that he can throw in a myriad of directions. If he isn't holding it, he can break with an attack, which sends a bunch of rocks in the direction he attacked. Depending on what attack you use and what direction you hit it at. His up-B is really bizarre, he summons a pillar of stone wherever he is. It's really useful for comboing, by getting an opponent between Kragg and the pillar opens tons of combo opportunities.

So, is this game worth buying? Yes, absolutely, One of the greatest games in early access right now.

Really, how much do I have to say about this game? Other than it is amazing! With the multiplayer mod finally released, there shouldn't be any real doubt to buy this game.

My lord is this fun! I love using boost and spawning random vehicles! Plus, you can play with your friends! I totally recommend this mod plus Just Cause 2!

This is probably one of the most unique games i've seen, and has the most replayability for any game these days. Totally worth more than $5!
