I have never fallen in love with a game more quickly or deeply than I did with Bastion. After orginally buying, playing, and loving the game on Xbox 360, I repurchased it on Steam to help support Supergiant Games as my favorite development team to continue their goal to create beautiful, emotional games.

Whenever someone asks me for a game recommendation, I always tell them Bastion. It was more than just a game for me, but an experience that I want to share with others. From the first few seconds of the game where The Kid is lying on a rock in the sky and our ever-present, ever-comforting narrator begins his story, Bastion unfolds as a gorgeous tale for the mind, the heart, the eye, and the ear, exactly as the world builds itself as you travel.

Gameplay is solid throughout the game with the variety of upgradeable weapons on The Kid's disposal, along with Spirits to offer bonuses and trials to make things more challenging.
The narration evolves from a cute story-telling mechanic to a constant companion as you travel through increasingly more dangerous and desolate worlds.
The visuals are stunningly beautiful with a vibrant yet soft art style that set the stage for the rest of Supergiant Games titles.
But the music. I can never say enough about the music of Bastion. Darren Korb ellicits emotions in his music that few can dream of doing. "Build that Wall" remains my favorite song from any video game ever, not just due to the music itself, but coupled greatly by its implementation into its specific level.

Bastion does and will always receive my highest recommendation for games.
