2 years in the making, I finally finished this game. It took me so long, as I was savoring it like a fine meal during a warm night. I was right to, as rushing this game would have made me not enjoy it as much. The music, the cutscenes, the story and the visuals of this game are stellar even nowadays apart from a couple of sections. Masashi Hamauzu has made a soundtrack up to par with Uematsu's compositions, and each track suits this game like a fine silky black glove. Great entry point into the Final Fantasy franchise, more so than games like 10 or 7, and I would encourage you to play this if you have the 40 hours that you need to finish it (Grinding included).

One of the all time greats of JRPGs. I finally got around to playing it and it was a superb experience that I don't think even most games today can match. IMO it's a must play for anyone who likes JRPG's
