Black Mesa is an amazing and modern take on Half Life 1, from it's amazing soundtrack to it's brilliant atmosphere it is something anyone with an interest in the Half Life franchise should play. However, this does not mean you should not play the original Half Life if you have played Black Mesa, while Black Mesa is considered a "Remake" of HL1 it is more of, as I stated earlier, a modern take of HL1 as it changes certain levels and health of the enemies to fit more into current day then in 1998.
