Early Access Review
When I first looked at the Steam page for Nuclear Nightmare, I thought it was one of those Unreal Engine games where the developer buys some assets, slaps them together, and lists it on Steam for a quick buck. Maybe that's even partially true, but somehow everything here is put together just well enough to make Nuclear Nightmare a fantastically fun experience, even with all the jank on top. It manages to pull off that action-horror movie feel incredibly well, and is one of the few games I've played where forcing you to make hard decisions is actually necessary but also doesn't feel like you're losing out on something. I look forward to playing more and seeing the development progress.

This game is garbage. The concept is pretty good but the execution is so lazy. Shame on "Euphoric Brothers" for thinking this was acceptable to publish. At least it was free when I got it 🤷‍♀️

I did have fun, but it felt really hollow at the end. It's been noted in most other reviews, but the gameplay goes stale pretty quick. It'll likely take you four to six seasons to beat the game, but by the end of season two you'll already have experienced everything the game has to offer, save for the story. Problem is, the finale is just a disappointingly cryptic ~30 second cutscene. There's enough kernels of enjoyment here that I'm at least hopeful that there are some post-launch tweaks that could improve the experience a lot, but currently I would tell most people not to bother.

Super buggy and really boring. Fairly interesting world but fails to capitalize on anything at all.

Played it for 8 straight hours the first time I launched it and ended the night with a nice cup of poop soup with the boys. 10/10

Also this game holds the record for the fastest I've been able to set up a dedicated server for any game.

Here's the thing, Rocksmith+ is not actually THAT bad. The problem is that it's SUCH a significant downgrade from Rocksmith 2014 in almost every aspect, except the addition of Piano.

5 minutes of playtime on Steam, but a few dozen on Uplay.

Significantly more early access than I expected, but it's still fun and has strong bones. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

It's got some rough edges, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is the foundation of gameplay solid as hell and super fun. I look forward to seeing how it ends up.

Sifu is an excellent martial arts action game with a rogue-lite-ish(?) flair. You take the role of a nameless protagonist on a mission of revenge through 5 excellent missions as you hunt down the killers responsible for your fathers death. The moment to moment gameplay here is superb. It shares a lot of DNA with many other beat 'em up games, typically invoking the names of the Batman: Arkham series or the more recent Spider-Man game. It improves upon that formula, though, with a slightly more involved dodge system, an excellent set of combos, and stamina/posture breaking mechanics. Those new additions coupled with fantastic animations and combat encounters that severely punish mistakes creates a very satisfying gameplay loop that feels fresh through the 10-15 hour runtime.

It is a fairly difficult game, but not unmanageable. The previously mentioned rogue-lite-ish mechanics do a good job of providing meaningful progression throughout difficult runs. Ultimately, I think Sifu is a must play for anyone craving a good martial arts action experience, as long as you aren't afraid of a bit of a challenge.

En Garde! is an exceptionally charming action game. It's not overly complex, and on their own none of it's individual components are of note, but as a complete package it's a wonderful experience. This is one of those games where you can tell everyone involved was passionate and enjoyed themselves during it's creation, and that elevates En Garde! above what it may have been otherwise. It's quite a short and easy game, but I believe that to be a strength. Just about anyone should be able to pick up En Garde! and enjoy themselves as they stab, kick, and quip their way through this fun little swashbuckling adventure.
