So many crashes... but so fun! Even more so now without a Playstation account!

Gameplay is a bit spammy, but it looks INCREDIBLE. The visual eye candy is enough for me to enjoy it. The first VR game thus far to really capture the JRPG feel and aesthetic. Price is a bit steep for the whole package though, considering that it's basically an arena hack and slash with some story elements to move along a pretty repetitive game loop, but slashing and yeeting these contorted humanoid machines is fun, and although it could feel a bit better with some more physics implementation, parrying mechanics, and more enemy and attack/defense variation, it looks really badass. I would recommend waiting for a discount unless you have an unsatiable VRJRPG itch that you need to scratch right away.

Wow. A journey through a huge wild world with some sweaty palm unsettling moments, both from a standpoint of pure atmosphere and tense knee wobbling platforming. Truly an incredible immersive masterpiece that transported me to a completely different realm. Ran butter smooth at the max spicy graphical setting at 90hz with a 4080 and ryzen 7 5800x. Never have I felt so small.

Update: The aforementioned issues don't seem to be a problem anymore. I also moved the game from my SATA SSD to my m.2. Not sure if that was what made the difference or if it was the day 2 patch, but no more super extreme frame dropouts, no more DLSS stutters, and frame gen is now working in 4K. Im just about matching my native 2K frame gen fps with my 4k Quality DLSS frame gen frame rate now.

Some DLSS issues at launch, but a great installment of the Ratchet and Clank franchise. The game looks beautiful and builds on the classic guns, gadgets, and gameplay that you know and love! I really hope the rest of the games get ported to PC. Graphical updates would be icing on the cake!

After testing day 1, I found that DLSS supersampling introduced bad stutters at all resolutions, and frame gen wasn't working properly for me in 4K. On my Ryzen 7 5800x and RTX 4080 system, I got butter smooth gameplay at absolutely maxed ray-traced settings at native 1440p with frame gen (No DLSS supersampling). Be prepared for occasional major frame drops outs to the 20s. They can be brief or last for 20-30 seconds. Hopefully these issues will be patched.

Best true RPG I've played in years. The immersion and depth of the world, characters, story, and gameplay is second to none. It truly feels like you are stepping into a grand adventure every time you launch the game where anything can happen.

This is the kind of game that VR enthusiasts have been waiting for. Souls-likes can clearly translate very well into VR when executed properly. Metalcat did an excellent job creating an interesting story line, a large immersive environment to explore, and satisfying gameplay that seems easy at first, but becomes much more challenging when you have hordes of enemies coming at you and an archer sniping you from the high ground while you fend off 5 swordsman on the floor. Parrying feels satisfying and the physics are very good! Still a bit wonky, but I already like the feel of the physics way more than Blade and Sorcery. I would have to say that this is probably the best feeling VR swordplay so far next to the rogue-lite Until you Fall. You don't feel inclined to swing wildly, the weapons have the perfect amount of "weight" feel, and I find myself parrying, dodging, jumping, blocking, and deflecting just as much as I am attacking. There is magic as well as the swordplay and archery, and the spells look and feel great too. The voice acting is surprisingly well done and I felt immersed in the world of Grimlord like I haven't felt since Half-Life Alyx right from the beginning.

I've never been more excited to witness the progression of an EA title like I am with Grimlord. If this is any indicator of what is to come in the future, the future of VR gaming is very bright and Metalcat is paving the way. VR devs should take notes. There are definitely a few wonky things here and there like the sprint mechanic, the full body IK, and a couple other quality of life things, but overall, this is the core of something truly great and I am so glad I purchased. This is my kind of game! If you want a good VR swordplay experience, you have to pick this up. Every VR enthusiast should, to support the game, the devs, and the PCVR medium. This is the kind of content that the PCVR market needs to keep pushing forward. Meta and PSVR2 are making the push. It's time for a PCVR comeback!

Update: To stop the game from crashing, fast v-sync needs to be turned off in NVIDIA control panel 3D settings. Changing to "use 3D application settings" setting works fine. It's playable now, but this is the only game that has ever had this issue. I have never had to turn off fast v-sync with any other game. It runs well overall with max settings + ray tracing on the 4080 in Quality DLSS 4k and native 2k with frame generation enabled (avg 100-120 fps), but regardless of what settings you use, there will always be random harsh stutters and momentary full-on frame rate drop outs. I don't think it is bad enough to ruin the game, but it is definitely noticeable and pretty frequent.

The game itself is well crafted all around with a nice steady progression an is stunningly beautiful and downright horrific at the same time. The gameplay is expanded on the first one which makes traversing levels more dynamic than the previous game. The ongoing story is kind of just a rinse and repeat of the last game, but with less mystery surrounding the narrative, leading towards a major conclusion. Brother has the rat sense > sister tries to protect him, and a hell of a lot of tragedy along the way. It is still very much a stealth game, but it feels more survival-like now, and although you still can't just go savage mode killing everyone, you can play aggressive for about 10% of the enemies and play stealthy for the other 90%. There are a few sections where you are encouraged to play aggressively, but it is far from the focus of the game and only happens a couple times. Overall, it is a tense and dark continuation of the tale of Hugo and Amecia, but an incredible one. A gripping sequel with a story that will have you at the edge of your seat by the end.

Original: The game is bug ridden and unplayable crashes constantly within seconds of playing on my high end system. Not recommended unless the issues get fixed.

A captivating and creepy point and click adventure that delves into the mind of a woman with a harsh past, severe depression, and the otherworldly forces that play into her torturous existence. You really feel in control of the narrative with difficult choices that will leave you at the edge of your seat. The art direction is amazing as well, and the exploration does not feel at all constrained by the side-scrolling nature of the movement through the environment. The voice acting falls a little flat at times, but the strength of the story helped carry it through regardless. It is definitely worth playing through, however, I strongly advise taking some precautions before playing if you are mentally unstable.

After hundreds of hours playing the base game in VR, I finally decided to ignore the reviews and buy the Odyssey DLC on sale. So, the new gameplay is actually quite good and adds a new fun layer to the original game. BUT... this is the ONLY improvement, and it comes with a huge caveat. Performance has completely tanked by about 40%. This makes the game a stutterfest in VR now even with a 4080 on my quest 2. For reference, I could fly around for hours everywhere in the base game and maintain 120fps at max settings. Now, I can't even hold a stable 72 fps, the lowest quest 2 refresh rate, doing the same exact things (not including the DLC content missions and activities). OF course, the foot missions struggle too, but on a virtual screen the frame drops are manageable, however, the VR experience has been completely ruined. It's an utter shame... Odyssey is also riddled with graphical bugs that were nonexistent in the base game, particularly with lighting and shadows flickering, popping in and out, and just looking terrible overall. Because of these things, I unfortunately cannot recommend this DLC. Just stick to the base game and play your shooters elsewhere. It really sucks because the new gameplay is fun, but literally everything else about Elite Dangerous and what it used to be was destroyed. This is NOT the DLC you're looking for.
