To be honest there ar e a million grievances to be had with Payday 2. Whether it's the monitization past or present, the weirdly out of view sequel, or the past dealing with lootboxes... behind all of that is a good horde shooter. Most of the heists can be played either with help from a friend or the online multiplayer which you should be using anyway. Buy the legacy package and/or the silk road/black cat bundles at your own convinence, probably on a sale. The game is in a good state right now where it's fun to play by yourself and with friends, and these packages bundle the admittidly stupid amounts of DLC into a breathable package.

Overall, it's a game I've enjoyed from my teenage years into adulthood. The sequel will more than likely be fine too, if the salvaged state of this game is anything to go off of.
