What are the facts? What is the truth? Are they the same?

In Paradise Killer, you take on the role of a detective solving a murder in a fantasy world, full of weird and charismatic characters and lore.

This is mainly an exploration game. You'll spend most of your time walking around the island, talking to people and collecting items as you go. There are a lot of things to unlock, and the game rewards you for looking into all corners. This ties in with the movement, which while being limited presents a fun challenge, and there are a couple optional movement upgrades you can unlock that make it a lot more dynamic and fun. The game presents some tricky platforming but it's pretty easy in general, although learning to move from location to location around the island is a fun challenge on its own.

The dialogue is very linear but well written. Don't expect to have to think a lot or to make tough choices. If you gather all the relevant evidence, you only need to pinpoint the culprit(s), and the game will do the reasoning for you. That didn't make it any less fun though, as you'll end up figuring it out as you go, and the final trial is more of a cutscene/climax. Or you can go ham and make false accusations ;)

Oh, and the music goes really hard. It's an 80s style soundtrack that doesn't get in the way of thinking but gives you funky beats that'll get stuck in your head. Really good for setting the atmosphere.

Overall, 8.5/10. A bit hard to get into, and has some rough edges; but its charm, uniqueness and writing more than makes up for it.

Croteam made one of the best games ever with TTP. Now, they did it again with TTP2. If you like puzzles and a good story, just buy it. This game excels at both, introducing many new mechanics, and asking many new philosophical questions.

I really like this game but I can't recommend it.

It is short compared to previous Hitman games (Blood Money has 11 missions, this one has 6 main missions, 2 of which are pretty bad), but the replayability kinda makes up for it.

The reason I can't give this a good review is the online always DRM. I just don't understand why I have to be online to get a rating on a singleplayer game. The unlocks I don't care that much about. Some people say this is to "prevent hacking" but a quick look at the global highscores shows people finishing missions in 0 seconds with a perfect score, and IOI doesn't seem to care about that.

I'll give this a thumbs up if they remove the ♥♥♥♥ DRM, or at least make it less restrictive (why can't I play my online saves after going offline??).

If you like being stealthy, this is your game. 10 missions packed with opportunities to kill your targets, a charming and interactive world which feels natural and alive, and a really cool story with a unique narrative. Despite being 12 years old, it holds up to date as one of the best Hitman games and a really good videogame overall.
