I went into Rain World expecting an interesting but short survival platformer; an original idea limited by the small size and budget of the developer.

What I got was one of the most elaborate, original and memorable games I've played in years. There is so much attention to detail and affection poured into every aspect of Rain World, and so many original ideas in its gameplay, level design and setting. It has such a surprising amount of content and replayability that it ought to put most AAA games to shame. It is hard without being unfair, mysterious without being obtuse, creative without being pretentious.

I can't recommend it enough.
