Overall the game is very good, its looks and feels like you’re in a world which has been ripped apart with mutants, npc’s and anomaly’s all over the place. Performance has been good for me. I’m running on ultra with shadows on high, DLSS and AMD FSR 3 frame generation enabled and get an avg of 85/90 fps, the lowest I have seen is around 60fps with a high of 110fps. I've have not experienced any stutters yet.

There are some pointers I would like to make which I do feel lets it down a little, first is the voice lines, I like there is English for us people who do not understand Ukrainian, but why the heck have you got a Scotsman voicing it, this really lets it down and I would of liked to see a Ukrainian speaking it in English giving it a nice Ukrainian accent which added to the immersion.

Next is the balance, I will add this has gotten better with the 1.0.1 patch, but I still feel its off, there are way too many meds all over the place, tanky AI and costing for repairs, upgrades, ect is off. Now take this with a pinch of salt, don’t let this put you off buying it as this can be modded to suit your play. I have put some to sort the balance and for me this has sorted a lot of it out.

Overall, I would say if you played any of the Stalker games, even Stalker Anomliy, get this. It is a great game and with time the dev’s will patch it to sort the issues out and if they can’t then the awesome modding community will. I will try and remember to update this when I get around 30 hours in.

Fun game, very easy to get the max level through the main quest line. Battle are challenging, interesting and very much like WoW when it first was released. Interesting gear crafting, for a free to play game is fun. Don't know if it will last but for now its worth a go.

Enjoy wearing out your mouse, All them bots clicking away, scamming you in buying crap from the market place.
If your going to do that you might as well give away your money to some charity over these devs and publisher who probable have the 14k+ bots running positive reviews. Steam really are blind af to this crap....

First played EVE Online way back in 2007, only been back for just over a year and really enjoying my time on the game.
EVE has got a lot better for new players with tools to guide the player on what there is to do and where to find it. Not everything you can just step into, there are still things which you will need to spend some time in training into. But as an alpha clone (Free 2 Play) part you can still do a lot, with a lot of fits for ships aimed at alpha clones. When and if you want you can always start paying for an omega clone which unlock more advance training and things. You can also buy Plex with in game isk to pay for omega. Over all there is something for everyone in this game, its not easy at times but its also not as hard as it was.

Since my original review which you can find below, Wildcard studios has change how you need to run Dedi server by removing the DRM from it. This means community's can now host server without owning it which is a great change.

With that change this has started to change my view on it. The game is still amazing in UE5 , I'm running a 5950x and a RTX 3080 which in medium settings gets me 70-80fps. High setting it will start to tank down to around 50~fps. There was some graphical issues but overall runs fine, I have not build up a base yet or got a load of tames, feel this will take a hit on it. I hope Wildcard can improve the performance a bit more. For now I will keep playing it and see how it goes. I am glad they change the server DRM, this is a good change from bit of a rocky start.

"It's a shame, the game looks amazing in UE5, like a hole new game. But the big let down is one the price, at least give people who own the original Ark a nice discount for buying basically the same game again. But truly the biggest let down from Wildcard studio's is the community servers, you cant run one with out having a second account with the game on, if you run one on your main account, then you can't play, if you try and play the server dies. Come on now, you know how big Ark was with community's, now you do this to them. All you doing is killing off your player base. Sadly I wont be playing this game for now until this changes as my small community cant have there own server and we for sure are not going to go buy one when we already pay for our own dedi box to run server on. Because of this I will be asking for a refund. It's a shame but Wildcard studios need to hear us!"

Gun mechanics of a hello kitty game, server reg of a text editor game.

Every game someone says there a "god" with an AWP who turn out to be a "god" at feeding them.

Man what a game, yeah the texture/graphics look like minecraft/roblox but don't take that for granted. The game-play in BattleBits is mental, think of the good old days of Battlefield 4, Bad Company 2 or Call of Duty 4, it really brings back them days where you can jump on with your friends and have a great time and good laugh.

Well worth the small price of the game, great content, wide range weapons, tools and vehicles. Give it a try!

Since the new patch went live on the 10th April 2025 I have play for a couple of hours each night. Overall I like the changes to combat and things but there are some issues which need addressing. First Ammo, you need to buy your own ammo, this isn't a bad thing as such and I can live with it but when you add that face you need to buy gunpowder of which is not a 1 to 1 ratio, the amount of gunpowder changes depending on what cannon you have, this sucks. It is not a good change. Gunpowder need removing as a consumable, maybe used it in crafting of ammo but not something you need to run your ship. Next, passenger mission have been removed, again another bad change. This along with cargo mission was a good way to get some money, I hope this may just be a temp thing and they will get added back in later. Fishing was remove, why I don't know, just add it back in as it wasn't hurting anyone. Trading, you can still do it but it seems really hard to work out where ti buy and sell, may just be because I've not played in a long time. I think this can be a good game again but the dev need to make some changes which benefit the player base with simple QoL thing which would help bring new players in and old players. For now my review will remain a negative/no but this dosn't mean I dont like the patch, I would say give it ago if you dont mind the gunpowder thing but I can't openly say you must get this game with the current issues.

Before Patch 56613 (28th June 2022) the game was fun and enjoyable being a hard and challenging game to master, this gave it meaning when you managed to sink a ship and got that loot or even capturing the ship.

Since the patch I feel the game has gotten too easy, battles go quick and don't give that feeling your in a mighty warship of the time, the player base has fallen off a rock too which a lot of the core player leaving over the changes, which they have expressed there feeling about but the dev's just ignore them and toss them off forgetting they are the one who tell there friends of the game, bring them and others in. I feel unless there is a change to at least semi go back to the pre 56613 (28th June 2022) patch this game will die a death by dev's and there poor reasoning with community players, personally I would say don't waste you money on this even if it on sale, until the game goes back to how it was or till it is F2P which is on the way.
