Fun, lore accurate, innovative whilst also being a culmination of all the good aspects of the many hero shooters before it whilst leaving most of the rubbish behind. Most F2P games should learn from how this one was envisioned, designed and run.

Brilliant CRPG. Loved it from start to finish. Must buy for WH40k enjoyers or CRPG enjoyers.

Starts off fun but later into the game the padding becomes obvious, and the catchup mechanics really kick in for the AI. Late game grip builds are the most viable builds but at the same time are WILDLY inconsistent. The same corner at similar speeds with similar braking will randomly lead to understeer or oversteer, and if you think you can just increase the downforce to compensate then you'll find yourself fishtailing randomly at high speeds when taking back to back mild turns.

Cops aren't fun to run from which is surprising because it was excellent in Heat, and I think it's to do with the tuning of the AI. The AI in this is a lot stupider but spots you quicker and can keep up with you a lot easier. Then theres the level 3 heat cop, the interceptor, which is simply painful to deal with. You're meant to take them offroad to lose them but for the middle part of the game they travel the same speed as you offroad, so really you have to try and force them to crash into oncoming traffic, but because you can't catch them it's really a waiting game with a luck element.

The tracks, cars and music are all great but they get overshadowed by the above issues. 4/10.

Absolutely massive game, filled to the brim with well made content and it's all fun! Rewards exploration and creative approach to quests. Every point in the story can go several ways, every character arc can develop in unexpected ways, and I've experienced this despite only playing through the first act and partially the second act (~46hrs). If you like RPGs, DnD, etc then buy this game!

Update @ 161 hrs: Excellent game, finished it twice and progressing with my third playthrough with the aim of getting all the achievements and trying to find all the little bits of dialogue and other content that I missed. This game is a testament to how all games should be in terms of attention to detail, length of story, width and depth of content, and this is now the new standard for RPGs in my eyes. Game of the Year potential easily, and I eagerly await any expansions they might add!

If you're on the fence about buying it because you've tried other CRPGs, don't be. I've tried to play through Divinity OS 1 and 2 to no avail, but this game hooked me unlike any other game in recent memory. 9.5/10, I consider this a must play.

Early Access Review
Simply put, what BF2042 should've been. Loads of fun, huge servers, destruction, chaos and most importantly balanced! Buy it in early access to get in on the ground floor while it's cheap and play it as they add new content.

It's good! Scratches the same itch as XCOM whilst being different in quite a few ways. Not usually a fan of card based games but this works for me. Base game has a load of content, the DLCs are only about an hour long each unfortunately. Only thing stopping this from being an absolute top tier game in it's genre is the poor mod support. Not much going on beyond reskins, which is atypical for Firaxis titles. Whole new characters would be incredibly difficult to add in whilst making sense, but extra cards, passives, items, missions, environments, and customisation for the main character should still be possible.

Solid 8.5/10 for me, must buy for anyone who likes XCOM type games. Probably grab the DLC when on sale and not full price, or if the season pass is discounted then get that, but the full game is worth full price.

A further improvement on 2 with a generous offering of side content and 2 short length DLC (one of which is free, the other included with the Deluxe version which often goes on sale for an insignificant cost) and the ability to run your own chapter of the Brotherhood, calling recruits in to help you with battle, sending them on missions, levelling them up, and eventually having some of them become full fledged assassins in rank. A few annoyances with the odd bit of parkour not working like it should and needing to drop to 60Hz to complete 3 mission sections (rest of the game flawless 144Hz) but an excellent entry, holds up very well.
