Honestly, I feel scammed even tho I received this game for free.
I loved the original, but this re-release is just another cash-grab from the loyal fans.
Half my play-time is trying to find a match re-queueing non stop due to the ghost queue problem.
You will be lucky if you land a non laggy server after all the effort to find a match.
There is no ranked system.
The developers don't seem to care much with there has been just one update since release with there's bugs that literally prevent you from playing.

Great game, feels a bit like a remastered DDDA, but I enjoyed my time in it. I suggest getting the game on a sale.
The combat was fun the whole time and captivating, although from time to time, the non-stop ambushes and encounters got really repetitive. Thankfully, at one point you start one shotting the weak mobs so it's not much of a hassle.
The world is vast and I enjoyed exploring it.
The story is meh.
Performance is dreadful, especially when you get to endgame, i stuggled to maintain 60 fps with ryzen 7800x3d and 4070ti which is ridiculous.
The DLC issue raised by most people is straight up stupid. You literally do not need to buy anything from the DLCs, you get everything in-game. I had around 10k rift crystal by the end, and you can hire pawns at your level for free, so they are completely pointless. The re-customization is again pointless and you get more than enough ferrystones in-game, again I had over 15 when I finished the game and I fast travelled a lot, same with wakestones.
All in all, a great time sink and if you enjoy the gameplay, you will have a great time if you can overlook the performance issue.

TLDR: Great and enjoyable souls-like, which is more than JUST a souls-like.

I had a blast playing the game and here are some of my points both positive and negative:
Aesthetic of the game is great, the steam-punk theme fits great and NeoWiz did a great job with the art and level design, weapon design, all in all props to them.

The weapon abomination system as I like to call it where you combine a handle and blade of a weapon is a refreshing really cool system and props to the developers for creating it.

Boss design is really great and enemy variety is plentiful, each area that you visit feels fresh even tough there are some re-used models or enemies.

My only complaint is that this game was designed to be played with fast weapons, in my experience I beat the game as a strength (Motivity) build with the sword from the Parade Master, found it looking the coolest, but man, some of the other motivity weapons are really slow (as they should be), but the enemies and bosses in the later half of the game become really fast for those weapons to even be viable.
Another issue is that enemies have incredible poise, while you cannot even swing without getting staggered from a light attack, which sometimes can be frustrating.

The legion arms are another great addition to your arsenal and blast huge damage even without you speccing into intelligence (Advance).

The game didn't feel unfair at any point of my playthrough, which is a huge mistake that other souls-like games face, where the artificially increase the difficulty with really anti-player monster placement or bloating enemies with stats. Every problem had a solution, you just had to be creative or look around.

Overall, I had a great experience with the game and strongly reccomend it if you are having that soulsborne hunger but want something fresh, the gameplay will feel familliar, yet really different.

Great game, glad I waited it out for them to fix the launch issues with performance. The game ran at smooth 150 FPS for me on max settings 1080p with a RTX4070 and Ryzen 7800x3D.

I already beat it on my PS4 back when the first remaster came out, and man, this is one of the best zombie apocalypse games, rivaling Days Gone for me (I love both). The storytelling, the visuals, the cinematics, it's all amazing and I reccomend playing through this gem if you haven't.

Great short souls-like. Took me 10 hours to beat with close to 100%, but just didn't want to grind it out.
The combat is really engaging and good once you get the click of it and start taking talents.
The atmosphere is alright and level design on the later levels is great.

All in all a great indie souls-like, way better than the majority of releases in the genre!

Edit:I managed to find the time to 100% the game, it took me a total of 14 hours of play time to 100% it.

TLDR: Artificially "difficult" game from tryhard developers with way too many flaws.

Honestly, after beating the game, I cannot recommend it. Here are some of my observations and opinions:

Enemy placement is extremely troll, DS2 level of troll before SotFS. Absolutely terrible and unoriginal. After the first few such encounters, you just know that there will be more enemies there to screw you over when you see loot.

Flask upgrade system is terrible, some of the later on upgrade materials are hidden like a secret, intentinally stopping you from maxing your flask.

Umbral would have been okay if there wasn't the annoying "eye" mechanic making you rush things and not explore which is connected to the above point, where you need to look, really look for the flaks upgrades.

There are no unique movesets, not for boss weapons, nothing. Basically whichever weapon type you choose all weapons sharing this weapon type will have the same move set.

There is no enemy variety. You literally fight the same mobs the entire game. Most of the "tougher" enemies are introduced as bosses, then you see them all over the place. From my counting there are probably around 50 enemy types roughly in the entire game and you fight them through the entire game, which makes it extremely boring, thus they artificially increase the difficulty with the above mentioned enemy placement.

Vestige seeds are 70% of the time useless as the game is filled with shortcuts and most seed placements are literally pointless as a real vestige is close by.

Lastly, bosses are extremely easy, I first-tried most of the bosses with only a couple needing no more than 5 tries which is embarrasing. You progress through an area expecting a tough boss at the end to then just first time them. The move sets are really easy to dodge/predict, only the later couple of bosses were "tough", but artificially, again, which seems the trend for this game, as they one or two-shot you.
