Game looks good for a 2010 game, but gameplay is repetitive at best and frustrating at worst. The "difficulty" of the game feels cheap, like cars not taking damage when you ram them, but you take damage or when you do a takedown or emp hit etc and the camera will zoom to the car you damaged, while the computer auto-drives you into a pedestrian truck or in a different direction to where the car you're chasing is going. The game is very grindy where you need do complete very similar races and missions on the same roads over and over again to proceed only to do it over again with a slightly faster car. This isn't the worst game however. It's a decent racing game for a little bit, perhaps only pick it up of you're a die-hard NFS fan and it's on a sale.

If you've played the other games in the series, there are some core features that stay the same but a lot of differences. Levels are a lot more open, with each level being a small open world with places to explore and side objectives to complete. The new crafting aspect of the game changes the way I played the game. In 2033 and Last Light, I remember being much more concerned about scarcity of ammo and filters, but it allows for more interesting weapon mods. The story is as good as the others, but I was a bit disappointed that there was not even a mention of the dark ones even though they were the primary theme of the first two games. The new characters added are both interesting and well voiced.

Overall, this game in many ways is a big step up in terms of scale for the series; If you liked the first two games, don't hesitate to get this one.

I definitely recommend this game, but more or less only for the story. Gameplay is decent at best and frustrating at worst. I have died way too many times due to the cover/sprint system in the game. Maybe that's just because I played on mouse and keyboard rather than controller, but the story and visuals 100% make up for that. Fantastic voice acting, attention to detail, even the loading screen messages add to the atmosphere the developers want you to feel about the chaos and moral ambiguity of war.

Great game. I played over 800 hours at the time of writing this. The game always has you wanting to play 1 more mission. As of recently, I wouldn't recommend the new DLCs though, they don't seem to be of the same quality of the original game. Some of the newer heists seem to have some thought in them such as Breakfast or Mansion. Still a steady fan base, so it isn't particularly difficult to find a party, but the game is certainly best played with friends
